And I was teetotaller until couple of months ago. It's funny how things change. But seriously, it's personal choice. As I said, we appreciate people being active around here. Goes long ways.
Dangit. All these youngins. Back in my day, we had a choice between milk or beer with our school lunch.
My thought process: "20? He's been old enough to drink for two years now.... oh right, American. Silly Americans"
Our lovely American Gov't at it's greatest. "You're 18? Here's this automatic weapon, shoot those people in the face, but don't touch that beer there for another 3 years. Sure you could be dead by then, but hey, whatevs." During the Gov't shutdown we should make a new one, with blackjack and hookers. In fact, lets forget the blackjack and Gov't. Anyways, back to your regularly scheduled topic, already in progress.
What, they'd already invented school? I come from a time before Cheerios, when sports stars like Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Watty Clark used to advertise toast soaked in moonshine....and I was in Australia!
This doesn't always work, I stay drunk nearly all the time (Vodka Martini, two olives) I hang around alot, but does it do me any good? Ha!. <grin>
I was more unamused that it had been brought up. Truth be told I don't mind being a Korpral but I'm curious as to how I've been forgotten about for so long.
Well, if you want the introspective opinion, sergeant, at least originally, isn't meant to be a natural progression for everyone but something that you have to go above and beyond to get, but lately its been sliding more toward a natural progression in some ways, so the promotion logic has gotten a little... inconsistent? Korpral for standard members and Lt. for officers is kind of the base rank, to get above it you have to do something to 'earn' it.
And this here is exactly why I was unamused that it had been brought up at all. I'm not going to discuss if or why I think I deserve the rank. That's for the officers to decide. As I said before, I'm happy being a Korpral.
I dont care much either if or if not I am promoted. After all the payment is not getting better anyway ;-) Also I dont think anyone here is realy looking at the rank of a member much when judging someones opinion in a discussion on the forums.
I misread sonething and wrote something in response that sounded worse after I posted it than I meant to.
Want a previous Sargent now LT's oppinon on getting to sargent? Help your current LT as much as you can, least thats what I did *shrugs* As for why I chose my current Sarg, He was highly reccomened and a former LT that needed to step down due to family commitments, he has also helped me immensly since I stepped up to LT and continues to support me even during the lul that we age going through with MWO. Take from that what you will.
