I was all excited when I saw remembered about it last night right up until I saw the price tag, i know weird I can drop stupid money on sc but a normal aaa priced title and suddenly I'm watching my budget. Since x3 is still sitting in my steam account unplayed I'm going to hold off until I catch up in the series and hopefully it drops a little in price or everyone jumps on it as gotw and says its awesome making me give into peer pressure.
I am getting it for sure on the date of release! I dont like some decisions they have taken with this title but the positive aspects are still overwhelming. I am afraid a bit that the bugs at the beginning will be huge though. Complex games tend to have complex bugs...
One of my best friends was contracted to do XML scripting for this game. I've heard nothing but good things about the game and Egosoft!
I will absolutely get it. But I will probably wait a couple of weeks after release to do it. The previous X games have released with major bugs like memory leaks and processor use problems that made them almost unplayable until the first couple of patches were out. Egosoft is a fantastic company though, and those patches come fast and are always spot on.
I had a hard time getting in to the first and second one, after getting the series on Steam. Are X3 and Rebirth a bit more approachable? Also, GMG has a 25% discount on it
I've tried to start x3 a couple of times but everytime I go to try and map the controls out the level of complexity and trying to memorize how to make everything work makes me give up and play some battlefield where I can just shoot people and not have to think.
Looks interesting. I look forward to hearing reviews. I'm not sure I want to spend $50 on a "hold-me-over" game but if it comes up for sale around $20-$30 I'll probably get it.
It's kind of funny being a High Admiral over at RSI, but yeah, I don't want to spend a lot of money on other games these days. If it goes on sale, I might pick it up.
If you get into it, an x gane will hold you for a long time. If you don't you'll probably get bored pretty fast.
