I'd play that as long as they included some rotten Nurgly goodness. You can never have too much Pestilence and pustules.
As a side note, Titanicus is not only one of my favorite 40k books, but also one of my favorite sci-fi books, period. Anyone with an interest in 40k should read it.
Hear my warnings, unbelievers. Carried to your minds by the power of the Prince of Excess himself. We have raised altars in this land so that we may sacrifice you to our gods. Veterans of ten millennia of unholy war wait to grind you beneath the treads of their mighty boots. The chosen of Khorne hunger to add you to their bloody tally. The Blood God himself has marked this land, and will claim your skulls for his throne. There is no hope in opposing the inevitable. Put down your arms, unbelievers, and bow before the forces of Chaos Undivided.
Certainly a shame Dark Millenium got demoted to sp as I remember reading an article where they said Titan's would be pilotable. Though I guess they may still include it.
I'm guessing something like that is balanced out by the fact that the opposing player could field enough units to nibble its ankles to death?
You have to play a very specific ruleset to field titans. Their point value is massive and it requires hundreds of units to pilot them. I have never played a match using them but I think Gyouza has. If not, I'm sure he knows the ruleset that you use to field titans. If you've ever read any of the novels from the Black Library, you'll see that when titans come out it's usually because of planetary invasion/defence.
No no, you cover them in metal junk. But seriously, usually both sides have one of those or another type of a unit that is the equivilant of it (or several) For example the orc stompa or a tank like the imperial guards Baneblade Note: i cant seem to find any good pictures right now
you can take them out with conventional anti-tank weapons like Lascannons, it just takes a lot of them. Mobs of dreadnaughts can do teh job in close combat too. but yeah Zaius, there are methods of balancng them out. The Apocalypse rules have lots of big scary units like titans and such. But a single a warlord ends up being the points equivalent of an entire good size army. Still lots of fun though. i love apocalypse. They also ahd pretty extensive rules in the larger-scale game Epic 40,000, where you had much larger armies of much smaller figures, but included lots of titans and big tanks and flyers and such.
