I don't know that much about building computers so I was hoping for some feedback on what I'm thinking of getting so far. Specs: AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2 GHZ quad processor 4GB RAM 500GB HDD 750W power supply EVGA Geforce GTX 560 graphics card Let me know what you think!
Looks pretty solid indeed. Definitely should be enough to run MWO and pretty much any other games out there. Are you going to run Windows 32-bit or 64-bit? If you go 64-bit then I'd bump up to 8gb of ram, it is silly cheap right now.
You're going to want to increase the wattage of your PSU. 400w is pretty low considering the graphics card you have listed.
There are some SSD drives that are 300 GB. Actually there is a 1TB SSD out there for $330 but thats alot to spend on a HD. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227753 I mean you can get a non SSD thats 2TB for $130 maybe cheaper (not spending too much time looking)
Get an HDD first then when you get the SSD you can make the HDD a backup/storage drive . That's my plan anyway.
That's been my plan too, and I keep watching out for a good SSD that's under $1 per gig, but whenever I spot those sales I'm never in the position to buy. I'm an Intel fanboi, so I won't be any help for your mobo/processor. The 560 is a good card, I've got two of the TIs. I guess there is some new 4XX chipset in some of the cards, make sure you get one of those instead of the older 386 (or whatever it is/was).
Well whenever I get my own place I plan on getting one of these. Heinekin and Newcastle mini kegs go in it. I'll just keep it near my computer. Wouldn't use the Heinekin in it though.
Corsair GT 120GB SSD $135 @newegg as of 6/3/2012 Fast card and best price/performance + Size ratio anything smaller you really hate yourself later Also I like the 560's Ti or not, but I also like the AMD 6870s beast of a card
wish theyd offer more of a selection and Id get one right now I need to get a new mini-fridge keggerator sold my last one when I moved from AZ
Are you able to change out the logos on that? I'd keep switching it up for whatever I put in there! Build looks great here, I'd just upgrade the RAM, but it seems like you're already doing that
