as the title says I cracked the screen on my tablet. everything else is fine but cracked screen means it doesn't work (specifically the touch screen function). I don't need a new tablet and I know I can get a replacement screen for a little over $20 and replace it myself. plenty of guides online. anyone have experience with doing that? or any input on if it's just easier and about the same cost to take it somewhere to get the screen fixed?

It's an asus tf300t. I'm actually leaning towards buying the part and doing it myself. i have all the tools already. I just need to figure out it's a go1 or go3 screen. i think it's a generation thing.

Check out some Youtube videos on your specific model first. Also, don't buy the cheapest screen available, and watch out for the ones that try to sell you just the glass (without the digitizer). Depending on the design, you might need a thin roll of double-sided tape too.

seems like to see what kind of screen/digitizer I need I have to take the tablet apart to look at the cable. seems like their should be an easier way.

Really? You can't go by model/serial number?
