    I like the aesthetic of the first one, but admittedly it may look a bit cluttered rather quick. I also could change the color of the bar on the right, but maybe save that for when we need year 16 XD (11-15 would follow the same pattern in gold)

    If you space the bars out just a little bit to the left as well, would that give your room to layer the silver chevron over each bronze one in turn?

    Yes, or I could simply layer that direction, as well.

    edit: I like the progression this would create, as the copper would fill the gaps between the silver, presumably the silver would work the same on the next tier with the gold, however I'm okay with whatever is decided.

    I like the first better but with as small as the ribbons are under someone's name the single color chevron might make more sense.
