Had to pack up and run like a bitch after they killed one of my dropships and two of my patrol craft in orbit contesting my ability to withdraw. Thankfully, I hate saying this, those units I lost means that I still have room to get every one off. -1 Union -1 Tigris III patrol craft
That was me editing their *starting* forces to a single star and giving my self only the default lance or a similar formation, say instead of 4 mechs 6-8 vehicles. Just to get rapid fire probing missions done, instead of massive slug fests as I usually do. And since they have numbers and tech, it was a blood bath. Gave them instead of a full cluster a single star, still more then enough to clean my clock. So I usually retreated without meeting mission objective.
As for space fights its far simpler if you turn off the Auto victory conditions checks and simply put them on your list and then play as both sides, include one random thing assigned to team 2, space stations work best, that wont move or retreat just in case for victory condition reasons.
As soon as I pulled back to Tamar the FRR hired me to train some of their Milita units on Rodigo for 4 months. This will be interesting...
Scenario 1, Stand up fight including my Overlord dropship, but since they have fucking 24 mechs and 5 units of Toads I upped the dropships to 3 and upped the ready lance to 3 with 3 more reinforcing in 4 turns 3 more after 8 turns if any one is left alive. They are fielding Assaults/Heavies this time, ive not encountered anything beyond a Nova so far, fml.:btears: Battle isn't close to done but i have to share, turn 2, Hunchback G, AC 20 to the face of a Gargoyle, SUCK IT CLANNER! (needed a 12 to hit)
Oh god. I just got a mental image of Fless as the Captain in the Mulan montage, but drunken viking style.
Power outage killed that fight, was going not horrible by turn 4 when the second wave showed up. Oh well, time to turn the screws again and take 2.
"Let's get down to business, to defeat the Clans. Did they send me Lyrans? Do I look like Hanse?" Edit: Fuck you, Flessar. Now I want to write that whole damn song.
Tally to against the clans so far: Them: 18 Mechs 5 toad groups 1 dropship Me: 59 mechs 41 vehicles 14 aerospace fighters 1 dropship 2 small auxiliary space craft patrol ships 29 mechwarriors dead, 56 vehicle crewmen dead, 9 fighter jocks dead That is just 6 engagements.
Magnus and Hep were the only ones in a fight so far, Magnus left minus both arms, and Hep left minus 75% of his armor and 3 wounds.
