One of the most intense fights I've seen from Shack Tac - Holy hell. Some very near misses on our intrepid combat journalist.
when people ask why I would enjoy playing arma with all of its quirks, the emotions you get just watching that video is a good start.
When people ask me why I run in to buildings in ARMA with revolvers and in an enemy uniform, it's cause I got bored after the first 5 minutes of that video
That's okay, man. Nobody expects the mascot at NFL games to play the game, but they're always excited to see them show up. That's when the magic happens. Might be more the speed you want. Skip to 5:3o or so. Adversarial match. No AI. Exploding churches.
I'll say this, ARMA seem to capture the reality of a battlefield (lots of boredom followed by frantic confusion) more than any other game, at least from my layman's perspective
I find that the boredom helps with building up the excitement and that panic you feel when you risk getting shot and miss alot of the mission. Few games deliver the same kind of tension and excitement as Arma does. Sure its boring when you die 5 minutes into a 1 hour mission but the possibilty of that happening makes every firefight exciting. It's definetly not something for everyone but for those of us that like it will have a hard time finding anything similar
It also makes you much more cautious, and reliant on your fire team, and overall, your commanders. If you do your job, and your commander does his, then you get results like the videos above.
I'm not saying it doesn't have its place, but I don't play to be bored for a big payoff of a few minutes Sometimes realism is too real
Wow, no joke. Everything up to Alpha extraction was beautiful, and it went waaaay down hill from there.
When things go ploin shape, you generally get it in a fast and heavy dose like that. It obey's murffy's fucking laws, btw, if you do find murffy, kill that sob.
