Anyone else here play around with these sorts of things?
I've had an Arduino uno for a year or so but not messed with it until now, also looking at a getting a Teensy 3.2 to work with. The new work desk/simpit has me looking at alternate controllers for switch panels and rehabbing old gameport flight controls for usb interface with modern windows.

I'm in school for Electrical Engineering and we use some of these single board microcontrollers (SBMs) in our projects. We don't use Arduinos in class, but I've used them before for home projects. What sort of stuff were you looking to learn specifically, MH? Human Interfacing?

Mainly human interfacing as I/O for computers at first, but I don't want to limit solely to that. I feel like it would be beneficial to explore more of what they can do than just that. If you have any places that you recommend going to in order to learn more I'm all ears.

this looks like it could be all kinds of fun. I keep toying with the idea of getting into drones, these could make for some pretty decent core systems, though I kinda wonder if it might not be possible to design an app to use a smart device as both brain and wireless interface.

This guy has a ton of great stuff from introductory material to much more advanced stuff: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4KXPjmKwPutGjwFZsEXB5g

His intro guide is one of the most viewed videos about arduino and is a great place to begin. He's easy to follow and a good designer as well as a good programmer.
