I just got a new phone and am looking to add some ringtones to it. Does anybody have a suggestion for an app?

Hook it up to your computer and transfer songs. I have rick hunters theme from robotech. Some guy working a walmart went "holy shit is that robotech?" When my phone rang.

The permissions for that seem kinda sketchy to me, namely the bit where it has access to your accounts, runs at startup and can mess with the system settings and install shortcuts.

The Play store's kind of a malware shithole in general. Even apps that used to be fine will sometimes get bought and repurposed to spam ads and hoover up whatever personal information they can. Like the flashlight app I used to use one day suddenly somehow needed access to my files, contacts and GPS location.

Yes? Been a few years since i had to do it. But pretty sure you can drag and drop from computer to your phones audio files folder.

some phones are picky on the file type, but otherwise yes.

Mp3 is probably the safest since it's pretty much the standard. Silly apple and their "we gotta be so let's make everything mp4 just to screw everyone over"

Uh yeah. If it's .mp3 it will work on the phone. I think .wma works well too but not certain. Everything else handles .wma just fine. I don't see why phones wouldn't. Any other format i'd say probably would not work on a phone. At least not with the standard audio codecs. And i don't know if you can get other ones on phones.
