I love it when people discover the insanity that was Mad Jack. I will always be grateful that even though I never met him, I can say we were both on the Earth at the same time. There's absolutely nothing about him that doesn't endear him to me.

 

Which just goes to show that once you've obtained a senior officer rank, you really have to piss someone off for them to give a damn about your eccentricities. All considered I doubt anyone who worked in his unit would ever throw him under the bus, because he was probably just as awesome to work with, and a man with enough confidence in his ability with a bow to take it up against rifles is either going to die swiftly, or is going to be someone you want as close to you as possible, as long as he's on your side. While apparently more complicated in the etymology than I had originally thought, the term claymore is sometimes used to refer to the scottish variant of the basket-hilted sword, sometimes referred to as a back-sword. Quite possibly a bastardization of the original gaelic, but history rarely makes apologies, particularly from dead men. XD

 

Technically you don't have to flatten the rock, it's simply much easier to trick it into thinking with fewer layers. And it's easier to control the lightning once inside.
