I did see that at least 3 of the developers/programmers/producers/whatever they call themselves these days worked on the previous heavy gear games and mechwarrior 2 (various ones)
Isn't MekTek the team that had developed a bunch of unofficial updates / expansions / new battlemechs for MW4:Mercs?
they are $33,000+ right now and 30 days left. they gave a really short timeframe for the kickstarter.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stompybot/heavy-gear-assault-0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tEODw4lIDwE Looks like it could be a lot of fun.
yeah but unless they get some crazy backing through promoting or extend the length of time for the kickstarter i don't think it will make it. only 21 days to go for kickstarter and they are just under $41,000 of the 800,000 they want
They're going to need to get some momentum going for it, that's for sure. Maybe they have some stuff ready for E3...
Not gonna happen. Saw some people blaming PGI for ruining people's perception of mech games earlier. Not sure whether I agree, but it ain't lookin good.
Yea, I'd rather give 10k to shadowrun kickstarter. It would be crazy cool to have the devolper come and DM your game!!.. to bad i didn't have 10k then
They're trying to get funding based off of a video with no people talking... and unless I missed something, no media coverage...
And in a mark of how weird the internet is, moved the failed campaign to their own website where the amount pledged tripled: http://www.heavygear.com/ They say that they'll produce the game anyway, but then why hold a kickstarter?
Yeah, this whole thing is turning out pretty weird. But whatever, as long as it gets made I'm reasonably happy.
i have been looking to see if there is something like megamek but heavy gear and haven't yet found anything. supposedly the heavy gear board game is faster paced and smoother than the battletech.
http://www.heavygear.com/news/bringing-in-2014 I see that SC's influence is spreading, which is a good thing. Also if people are interested in pledging/supporting this, I'd appreciate the use of my referral link: http://www.heavygear.com/register?ref=4f3da6f8 . Thanks.
