Haven't bought the game, but I turn to theRadBrad for all my walkthrough needs, to see how a game pans out before I think about buying it. And this game is AWESOME.
I've had my eye on it for a few months already, I'll definitely buy it but probably not for the next 1-2 months as I have a backlog I'm working through.
Its a PS3 exclusive, even XBOX doesn't get it, why is no PC surprising? Anyway Naughty Dog has been doing PS3 only exclusives for the entire PS3 lifecycle, not surprised they aren't changing that.
Bought and played it through the week it came out. Very good game in my opinion with a very well thought out story. if your good at games it is almost seems as if you are watching a movie instead of playing a game. (only because your not dying all the time). would play it at night or a room with the lights off to get more immersed into the game, also a few times it can be hard to see because it is nighttime in the game.
Watching the trailer, i noticed the heroin has a bow and arrow. Has anyone else recognized that ever since Katniss Everdeen started slinging arrows, a lot of other girls have filling quivers and taking aim? Can you think of other examples of this in games and movies?
or the fact that they put all their resources into one system and squeeze every little piece of performance out of it? Doing multiplatform isn't like snapping your fingers, it requires work to do it right. Naughty Dog has been putting out probably the highest quality of games on a consistent basis of any PS3 developer, probably partially because they're just focusing on one platform and getting it right. I'd love to have it on PC as well, but there are legit reasons not to do every system possible.
I'm just going to watch a bunch of series to view the whole game. I mean, RadBrad said in the beginning it's more of a movie than a game.
Picked up a copy and started to play through it, but I don't have a PS3 of my own so I'm waiting on my friend to finish it and let me re-borrow his console... Really enjoyed what I've played so far. Multiplayer is fun, too. The matchmaker kind of sucks though, seems to put all the experienced players on one team and all the new players on the other...
Played through on normal. Ran at the clickers like an idiot with a rusty pipe in hand. Pipe breaks. Got my ass eaten. Went at it seriously and stealth like and the game became very intense. You will die. A LOT, but it will never really feel like the games fault. Do try to conserve ammo. Would recommend, 10/10.
I loved the game. I played on Hard out of the box and it was definitely a challenge. I loved headshot bow kills. Silent and you can usually recover the ammo if you are patient. The story line was amazing. The dialogue was amazing. It was a better movie than 95% of all movies. Well worth the money in my opinion.
Doesn't this apply to PC-only games for those with a console and not a PC? If you want to play a game that is an exclusive, buy the format that it's available on. Don't get upset because a developer made a choice. As for the game, due to heavy work load and some very late nights at the office, I've only made progress through about half of the game. But what I've experienced so far has been an amazing ride. They have put together a game that really does deserve a 10/10 rating. My only regret is that when I've finished the game there isn't another one for me to start.
I really can't stand voiced-over playthroughs. I'm here for the game not your tone-wrecking blabber! Been watching this guy playthrough The Last of Us steadily over the past week, link here for anyone else of the no-talking persuasion. Unfortunate this game had to be a PS3 exclusive. I'm most impressed by the very "natural" sense of verbal interaction between characters so far, namely the way they banter occasionally, especially minor things like "watch your step here." Some of that banter is clearly for player assistance, though alot seems purely for character building or immersion. Can't say I've seen that level of voicing development in any other games yet. Sort of surprised another zombie apocalypse game is doing so well. Maybe its just me but it feels like the genre is played out by now. Must be just me then.
