In preparation for Star Citizen, and spaceships working together, I'd love it if somebody well up to 6 people, were to join me in Artemis. http://www.artemis.eochu.com/ There are 6 Main stations Weapons - Damion Sparhawk Helm - Engineering - Tzeentch Science - Rebmac Comms - Buff Plankchest Captain -Fluffypinkbunny The weapons console wields destructive power capable of decimating entire worlds. The Weapons console allows you to efficiently perform multiple combat functions. One critical duty of a Weapons Officer is to establish weapons locks on targets. To do this, simply click directly on the enemy vessel’s position symbol on the Weapons console. Without a target lock, automatic beams will not fire, and torpedoes will not track a selected target. Once you have locked a vessel by clicking on its position symbol, the manual targeting option becomes available. To be an effective Helm Officer you must have quick reaction time and exceptional spatial visualization skills. In combat, you must constantly coordinate with the Captain, Engineer, and Weapons Officer. A good Helm Officer must communicate just as well as he or she steers. As Chief Engineer you will answer directly to the captain for the ship’s performance. The efficiency of every system is affected by damage and power allocation, and both are your responsibility. Whether your ship needs more punch from the beam weapons, greater speed from the warp drive, or faster scan rates from the sensors, your quick actions can give the ship anything. TSN Communications Officers (Comms) represent the voice of the USFP across the cosmos. This would seem a solemn duty, and it is, but in practice communicating with aliens is a small part of the Comms job. If the Science Officer is the eyes of the ship, Comms is both the ears and the mouth. Messages from space stations and friendly ships contain vital information that the Captain needs to hear. As the saying goes, “sealed lips sink space ships.” As a TSN Science Officer, you are the Captain’s primary source of intelligence on friendly and enemy vessels. Your sensitive equipment can register ships and interstellar phenomena that do not appear on the Long Range or Tactical scans. You can tell which enemies are strongest and which are weakest as well as pinpoint key vulnerabilities. TLDR 6 Different players, 6 different computers. Voice coms and we run a space ship doing missions. There is a quick download and install, then we connect through a lan/ hamachi. The captain only gets a few screens, and has to rely on asking the other stations for information and giving instructions. http://www.eochu.com/dl/Artemis_Manual_latest.pdf This link has all the infomation for the different screens and what can be done. I would love to do a mission, one ship, vs one ship, maybe fly around scan some stuff. One server can accommodate thirty-six officers manning six different vessels. I would LOVE to be part of 36 different people playing the 6 different ships, as we defend the space stations against incoming ships. If anybody is interested please post below we can gather on a weekend or something. I've always dreamed of being an officer in starfleet, the only reason why I listed my self as captain is because I know how the game works, currently. I have no issues if anybody else wants to be the Captain, I'd actually rather be engineering or science https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6d2c89xxcj1b2ze/prT-2WD7Ff I have just (8/13) added in my files, and the update, the game's own site says it can be shared. I see no reason if we enjoy it enough, especially if we get together 36 people, gathering some money to pay for the use of the game. They sell "licences" for 40 dollars, which comes to 7 dollars an officer spot, but this is in no way need. I have played the game fully without paying a cent. Created two hamachi lans, (since they only allow 5 connections each for free, and we need a minimum of 6), they are named, Artemis Bridge Command and Artemis Bridge Command 2, both with the password sor.
My hubby was watching me play around with it, he'd be down for filling science, so i'm marking you as engineering tz.
Another thing about this game I forgot to mention was the fact that I can run (on level 1) an entire ship, by my self, server/host, and all 6 consoles, on one computer, I just relaunch the program 7 times, one is the server, the others connect to it, and the game works just fine.
This game can handle more than just one ship. If somebody else wants to captain their own ship, I will add it into the op, Also, games last about 20 minutes, (well for level 1 at least, with just attacking, i.e. training) for just one ship, and I have no problem letting somebody else captain, as each game is slightly different, we can switch out positions as we go, or tween games. The captain doesn't have to host the game, it can all be hosted on one system
Incoming transmission from unidentified derelict science vessel. They're hailing us.
Impromptu launch of the ship with buff, tzeench, val, magnus, and my self, OMG was so fun... we did two FULL missions, (first took 18 minutes, 2nd took 34 minutes) I am glad on many levels, #1, IT WORKED!! !HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA SNORT HHAAHAHAHA #2. omg was so fun, It seemed to me, as captain that everybody actually liked getting orders, and while probably had their own thoughts of what to do at a specific time, followed and executed on time, except for magnus... SHIELDS!!!!. #3. While not having all stations full, being able to have one person play science and coms was fun. I hope I utilized him enough to feel like he was doing something useful, we got a few ships to surrender (those who talked before the last shot hit them). While it probably wasn't noticeable I am sure val noticed, when we had so much power we didn't know what to do with it. All from the comms officer advising of things to do. #4. Next project is to get more people in the game, having one ship, is great, but I want to see two ships, splitting duties, with many directions of attack and coordinating efforts, of up to 12 players, being, 2 captains, and their crew. Just two ships, but these ships... wow We only played on difficulties 1 and 2, while 1 is WAY to easy, if you've played it before as captain, it would be great for starting captains, then move to two. I believe though the game can become very challenging very quickly.
I want to try helm and weapons, after that engineering and coms, that way when I start doing things in SC within the idris I can see something of what those im going to be asking to do at their stations will be dealing with in at least an abstract sense. No point in me giving out all of the wrong orders and getting us all killed because I didn't bother to read the manual. Instead ill see us to victory, then push the button im not supposed to push.
You ever decide to run again let me know via IM or Skype(same username). I'd love to man a station sometime.
I missed the times you guys did this before. It looks like it is now on Steam for $7, anyone interested in giving it another try?
I definitely would be interested, I can tonight at 10 pm pst, or tomorrow (wednesday) almost any time.
remember, only one person needs to buy te game, up to 5 more can use their "key" even though the game isn't controlled or anything the developers ask that you don't share it with the world. I see no harm in sharing it between friends here.
