looks alright, like the Mecha aspect of the titans, of that video tho I am wondering how much is scripted in game events...

I would call it about 50-70% scripted, but what it shows in the mechanics makes up for that. I am excited about jumping around with a limited jet pack, jumping into a mech, and generally kicking ass. The simplicity of controls and breadth of possible movements makes my immersion meter go off the scales.

All of that being said, I hate EA. Or at least most of EA. They have messed up many games for me and I hope this isn't one of them.

I was having Mirror's Edge flashbacks with the bit of wall jumping in there... it's a good thing. It is very pretty and hits a lot of the right buttons for me, but it better have the content to back it up beyond scripted singleplayer and Battlefield multiplayer to get a day 1 sale out of me.

Also... I'm still peeved at EA for forcing me to use Origin and not allowing it to be compatible with Steam... has that changed at all?

Not to derail the thread too much, but the part that really bothers me with Origin is that EA is *forcing* it on you in order to control how and when you play their game... and EA has a horrible track record on supporting gaming communities... that is a very bad combination. If nothing else, at least Steam is optional for *most* games. :/

Not saying Titanfall is not worth your money, but serious "buyer beware" as with all EA products these days.

It won't be worth 50 dollars, but if can catch on sale for about 20, I may get it.

To be blunt Origin is not that bad, no worse than Steam from what I've seen running it on my machine over the past 6 months. Sure, I still don't like Origin or EA, and it would be great to be able to play BF3 without another program running in the background wasting resources (albeit comparatively little), though its not the abomination that I've widely seen it made out to be. As far as I've been able to tell, Origin isn't doing anything Steam already isn't in terms of noting user settings and preferences, and still gives you the option to opt-out of those features (which I'm sure most privacy-conscious users have).

Of course I wish DICE and Bioware (RIP) weren't held hostage by EA and could digitally release their games elsewhere, though personally boycotting Origin seems to me it would only hurt them even more than EA, which is just unfortunate since both developers make (have made) great games. If you want to kick it to EA, not pre-ordering their published games and buying them either used or at significantly reduced prices would be the better way to go since it does not appear EA is directly generating any real income by users running Origin itself, only if they purchase through it (which I do refuse to do).
