So, I stumbled upon this tonight. I'm not usually one for quizzes, but it caught my eye. It's 30 questions (each a simple choice between two options). It is worth noting that it was originally designed with the context of MMOs. At the end it has a distribution between four different motivating philosophies: Killer, Explorer, Socializer, and Achiever. I think one of the reasons it jumped out to me was thinking about it context of how we as individuals might approach Star Citizen. You can find it here: http://www.gamerdna.com/quizzes/bartle-test-of-gamer-psychology/take In any case, if you'd like to take it don't buy into that whole "register to keep your scores thing" . At the end, you can just right click the image of the signature, view the image, and save away. Here was mine: Can't say I'm terribly surprised with which one turned out to be the most dominant.
Explorer Killers enjoy seeing the world, meeting interesting people...and killing them. EKs love all discovery, but finding an edge over the competition is best. Always seeking new opportunity, an EK likely knows the ten best places to find certain types of opponents, as well as ten different ways for taking them down.
I'd say Socializer and Achiever should be closer to each and Killer could be equal or greater than Achiever. Apart from that feels quite fitting. Also, in my opinion, in some questions you can use one choice to achieve another later.
quite a few of the questions I would be doing one choice in order to get to the other, they have a decided lack of strategy sadly. I'm generally a completionist, but I enjoy exploring for alternate ways to do things and ways to bend the rules in my favor. I was a bit surprised by the decidedly low killer score but I think its because I want to make each kill that much more special. Whats the point of a daily if you can't make it really count in an over the top way.
A lot of the questions I did not feel like I fit either.. so I answered the best I could. A lot of centered around PVP or RP/Social.. I am more of Social PVE. I also do not usually go to the explorer side of things..
I just don't play many MMO's, but I did answer as best I could. I game to have fun with buddies (well now the 'Borg), and to see new and cool things.
That would explain a lot. When I play online games, I spend about 50% of my concentration just reminding myself not to TK...yeah...a lot is making sense now.
Not too surprised, but still interesting. If anything I'd put more into achiever, I love rare, hard to get items/things.
If the site didn't keep failing to load every other question, I might be be able to finish this quiz. EDIT: After 20 minutes of wrestling with that crappy site, I managed to finish the quiz.
I started in on it, but the options given didn't align with my personality or outlook at all, so I gave up.
