Warhammer 40K, what happened to you?

Nooooooo!

Kill that abomination! Need to play some real 40k games now to purge my mind from that terrible thing.

 

That was my first introduction to WH40K. We had just settled down for a couple of days at a base in Kazakhstan in 2007, and I found that they had an entertainment building with some top line PCs in them. One of the games they had on there was Dawn of War. I ended up playing through as much of the campaign as I could before we got sent off to Afghanistan. After my tour there, on our way back, I found the same computer I had used, and was pleased to see my save file was still on there. So I beat the campaign with a day left over before we were shipped back home. Good times.

Dawn of War II was pretty great, and so was the next expansion. The last one sucked though.

Looks like Games Workshop has heard our complaints! Finally they are going to give us the game we've all been waiting for. Real turn-based figure-moving action, on a board and everything! They-

Im looking forward to the changes. People are worried about the unbound lists. Whatever dont play them and dont play people who play them.

Going to fork out the cash for the collectors edition too. Ill take pics

 

I would pay what I spent on MWO and SC put together to have a game that looks like the most recent Dawn of War games, but played like the originals. Add some territory/planetary community warfare in there and call it a done deal.

 

If they just made an MMO that was WoW reskinned with 40k models I'd probably play it for the rest of my life.

 

Remember the game Chaos Gate ? If they remade that I be bloody happy chappy.

 

I'd like the combat from 40k Space Marine though. And a few real RPG mechanics... that'll do me until my son gets married.

Why aren't people like us hired us concept designers?

 

GW has never ever been able to accomplish anything decent with their concepts, except for BB, Chaos gate and to some extend DoW and WH40K: Space marine.

I don't understand why they have never succeded, but my guess is a combination of being cheap, secretive and controlfreaks + loss of innovative minds.

Maybe the upcoming release of Warmachine Tactics will inspire a more uptodate edition of Chaos gate.

 

I thought i hate Space marine. I ended up enjoying, Played to the end, Only thing i did not like was the Final boss fight.

 

Yeah the QuickTime Event ending was pretty lame but I loved the combat system. Blasting something with a bolter while advancing and then instantly chopping them up with a chainsword is so gratifying.

 

Also enjoyed the multiplayer and the buttload of customisable goodies as well. Any chapter, any combination of armour. Nice touch that.
