Not sure if this game has been mentioned but it just might be an interesting game http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/02/17/bungies-destiny-a-land-of-hope-and-dreams Makes of the halo universe (yup I know HALO, dont enjoy that game much but....) and seems to be a free to play "mmo" with space combat and a sci-fi RPG elements, so to me it might be a better (read far better) KOTOR...
It is a not currently planned for PC but they just did an announce trailer within the last month or so and with the backlash from the PC community they still may add. Id also expect it to be a little more like Phantasy Star's more recent additions than an mmo or Guild Wars for those who havent played newer PS games. Not sure I like the random matching aspect though, I'm iffy enough about having to social game but when random people get thrown into "my story" and start screwing things up it will grind my gears.
Yeah... silly me, just did more reading and its console only. Pass. which is a shame cause it looks great but console games are meh, hate the controls.
It's also a current-generation console game, so I don't imagine it'll be a particularly good mmo. I can't say that I'm interested in any case, as like you said fps console games are pretty much trash and I avoid them like they're... I dunno, fps console games...
What really? Console only? From what I had read I had gotten the impression that they were trying to gear towards the pc market... it's a shame.
I have two free invites for the Destiny Beta on Xbox 360 if anyone would like them. Send me a PM and I'll reply to the first two requests with the download code. The Beta opened today on Xbox and runs through this weekend so you only have a few days to take advantage of these codes. I've been a fan of Bungie since Halo CE and have always been impressed with their games and enjoyed them, so I had no qualms with pre-ordering Destiny. I played five hours of the Beta today, almost finishing the Beta's story arc, and greatly enjoyed the exploration and shooting. The setting is also interesting, quite clearly taking the "sufficiently advanced as indistinguishable from magic" approach in various facets, although I wish there were more background details and better characters to fill out the setting--two things I am finding worryingly lacking, however will accept for now as limitations of the Beta's length. I'm still not entirely sold on the story and the MMO-esque approach to navigating and playing through it either, but again I'll accept for now. Technically, even on the dated 360 I find Destiny's graphical quality amazing, which is even more impressive considering the console's age. The only bugs I've encountered so far involve menu elements failing to appear, which I think might have been network-related. I cannot comment on multiplayer just yet, but will be sure to try it tomorrow.
