I love this game. I haven't played a lot but I thoroughly enjoy most aspects of the game. That said, I'm not very good at in and I'm finding myself less and less interested in playing games alone.

I am looking for both people to play with (I know you exist!) and someone who doesn't mind teaching me some of the finer details. I mostly (meaning always) play Canadians as I am Canadian and it's rare that our military is featured in a game, let alone so well rpresanted. However, having finished reading The Junior Officers Reading Club, which is written by a British platoon commander (thanks Scholomance!) I have a desire to expand to a Commonwealth deck. Don't ask me about Redfor, I have no idea.

During European times, The Wargane channel is well used, We gave a dedicated team of players, Who are very very good. 3 games with them will bring you up to scratch. Flesser regularly plays as well and closer to your time zone.

I do also play. I put like 400 hours into ALB. I am slowly getting into Red Dragon. I have enjoyed the changes made with eastern europe DLC so now red faction can actually play. Especially non-USSR factions.

My preferred style is Conquest with a time/point limit however. I am not a fan of no limit destruction.

Hey look, a Wargame thread! I play this quite a lot. If anyone from the 'Borg would like to add me my username is Diffusion9 (surprise.). I pretty much exclusively play 10v10 Tactical games. You'll generally always find me in the 10v10 "Chairborne" server, where I play with\know a few of the server admins.

If you ever want to join me for a game, just add me as a friend and join on me if you ever see me online if there's space on my team. Make sure you message me and let me know you're from around these parts. My buddy and I who I'm usually always playing with are very open to helping out new players, so if you're new don't be too shy.

I'll drag you - kicking and screaming - to victory.

What happened to all the dudes who played this? It was super common then kinda fell of the face of the teamspeak. Some balance patch? General loss of interest?

I just got back to playing a little bit the other day; mostly getting frustrated with 2nd Korean War campaign. I'd like to get back to playing some multiplayer sometime.

Red Dragon had a series of unfortunate events... Eugene's announcement of AoA and discontinued support for Red Dragon, and then a couple of server crashes and DDoS attacks really took the wind out of the sails for a lot of people, I think. I usually only see about 300 people online nowadays, and a bunch of the hardcore Wargamers started running the Uralgravnomod Mod so that cut the population down a little bit.

That sucks. To be fair I was much more into Air Land Battle myself. I loved the balance in that game. I cant get rid of the feeling that Red Dragon is far too much about artillery instead of other units. The lack of cover on some of the most popular maps probably does not help.

The most fun I had in Red dragon so far was the single player campaigns actually.

Airland battle and Red Dragon were completely different breeds... I often times felt that the Naval stuff was shoehorned in at the last second.... but the artillery was definitely king most of the time... having said that, since the game centered around a possible Korean conflict Artillery duals make a lot of sense seeing as North Korea has one of the largest Artillery parks in the world, and china is close in behind that. That said, the tools that would be used against either really don't exist, so meh, I did much prefer Airland battles depiction over Red Dragon... and I still have my fingers crossed for something else from them... maybe even a WWII game or another.
