I am sad, not only is this not what we were hoping for, we also don't have the unamused grumpy cat emoticon to fully express the displeasure anymore. sadspacewhale just lacks the raw underlying essence of hatred.
I hold out hope. The MMO -does- sound like it'll be executed well. It just kicks me in the rustly bits when they say, "Please pay for this to help us make this other game." But not offer anything more significant than in-game currency. Way to repeat history (failed Indie-go-go fundraiser). Maybe I'm overreacting to a lack of easy-to-access information. http://lifeisfeudal.com/forum/do-we-get-alpha-mmo-access-also-t1928/#p20850 I'm also exhausted.
yup, sadly it was axed along with the viking of disapproval some time around when we got thorca and our german beer drinker. We only keep a limited number to keep things from getting too crazy
Yeah, they've got information scattered all over the place. The best I can tell there WILL be some sort of discount for the people that pick up this early version, but they aren't saying what. I think that's probably because they haven't decided how they are going to charge for the MMO. At this point I'd say they are leaning towards a subscription model, but I don't think anything is official. I hope they don't go subscription though. I tend to play games for a couple weeks then rotate. I might have a hard time getting my money's worth with a sub. I think for me personally, I'll wait a few days and see how the reviews look. It might be worth picking up even at 40$. There's still a lot of room for fun with a 64-player cap. I think supposedly this early version will have all the content of the MMO, it just won't have as large a world or the faction system.
So early reviews say there are lots of crashes and hangs (as to be expected with early access), but people seem to be having fun with it. A common theme does seem to be that the controls are a bit odd and the learning curve is also quite steep. I think I'm going to try to restrain myself for another week or so, but I might cave and buy it sometime this weekend. If I do I'll update y'all with my results.
That's not what I read. http://lifeisfeudal.com/LiFYO#compare Which is why I posted: http://lifeisfeudal.com/forum/price-of-game-and-servers-t1896/
Hopefully they will clarify. There are a number of things that say one thing on the website, another on Steam, and something else entirely on the wiki. As far as the chart, basically the only difference is the ability to form groups and the functions that go with it (battles, sieges, diplomacy, etc). That is a big difference though. I'm thinking they would have been better off setting the price at 30$ than 40$. Most people that are into early access stuff aren't going to want to drop 40$. I would have bought it already at 30.
I bought this earlier today. I have already ran into several bugs and a few times it just stopped responding. The game is fun but frustrating, with a very steep learning curve. You have to press R to go into combat mode before you can attack anything, which is annoying. I was coming back from gathering flint to make a saw and I ran into a wolf and a moose that were just hanging out by my campfire. I died quickly.
Looks neat. Will hold of untill they figure out where they are going with this. MP test sounds neat but I dont want to pay twice for the MMO version where we can Borg together.
http://lifeisfeudal.com/forum/lif-yo-interactive-faq-t1204/ Answers everything. LiF:YO is not required for anything relating to the MMO. We just have to be patient to play the game they're actually talking about in all the videos.
Have you been having fun with it? I've been holding off buying until they fix most of the crashing and get most of the features working properly.
Only just got it tonight as a gift, but been watching streamers all week. Whenever I'm playing it, I'll make a room in the public part of the TS server.
http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/1...5-000-copies-on-steam-early-access/#continued 65,000 units moved in Steam
Fluffy and I have been playing it. We have the beginnings of a village established. Join us in TS and I'll turn on streaming if you like.
I was intrigued when I first saw this, been waiting for this kind of game for a long time. However, what they currently have isn't quite what I was looking for. I intend to wait for Kingdom Come: Deliverance and see how the two match up then.
