I don't particularly get excited about that caricature-cartoon look, when it looks more minimalistic and toyish than MechCommander when it was released. Besides the art choice I'm highly intrigued about what they mean by "new kind of RTS"..
I think the cartoon style looks really clean. I think it might work for this game. I wasn't super fond of AoE3 but the other two were fabulous. it would be worth a try I would think.
Agreed. The thing about AoE 1 & 2 was that they pushed genre boundaries and created new game mechanics and combinations, truly pioneering games. As for 3.. meh. By it's time there were already people who were doing it all better while it also lost some of the original charm imho. And not knowing much anything about this, if they've got any of that old pioneering spirit and ingenuity to pour on this one, it could be truly great.
