is this the time to get into the game then for those of us who've been on the fence for so long you guys think? or just wait and see how it turns out?

i currently have a Python setup as a combat merchant... but may trade it in for a Type-9 Heavy Freighter once i bank roll a few more million credits....
i dont have an anaconda this time round... as i havent done a pure grind . but it honestly wouldnt take a dedicated person more than a few weeks to get one if you sat down and ground one out. i bet you could get one within 2 weeks of dedicated trade runs along the hauler/cobra/type-6/type-7/type-9 ship line as long as you found a decent trade route. I honestly wasnt THAT impressed with the Anaconda when i had one.. the Python i feel is a better ship over all, with its weapon layout and defensive capabilities. add in that it can run that while still having a good cargo capacity and it makes for a great "All around" ship. on a side note... i lost my HDD the other day and replaced it with a 2Tb Hybrid drive ( total cost $105.00 USD) i decided as long as i was replacing my drive i might as well do a fresh buildout and i havent loaded back in new profiles for my games or controllers yet, so it will be a few more days before i can be arsed to get back into gaming.
ok... for anyone who decides to join the Elite game... shoot me a message and i will feed you with enough Gold to allow you to purchase a ship that will be suitable for your play style. i currently have a semi-tweaked out Python with many guns and a mass of cargo space.. thats capable of pursuing a armed merchant style of gameplay.
has the wings update gone live? i've seen more vids popping up with multiple folks flying together lately but my [limited] research hasnt confirmed they were just filming the beta build...
Yes, wings is live. It is a little janky, but it does work. I do not know if you have played, but they have added a lot since I played last.
I tried to play this with a mouse, then with a controller and just about wrecked my ship. I will be sticking with my hotas.
Wings has certainly breathed new life into ED for me, (and many others, inner systems are packed!) and while a lot of the group mechanics are buried suboptimally in the UI, the functions alone are enough to make it a lot more fun. Looking forward to more group content in the future. My pilot tag is the same as the forums here if any of you all want to group up, add me to friends! I do light hauling and bounty hunting within 150ly of Sol.
