Why would they just keep releasing the old version of the game over and over and ov...well people do keep paying for it I guess. One of these days someone is going to get bored enough and reanimate all the shit in this game and go from there. I am glad the game is progressing into its 4th console though. Not a lot of games are playable on PS 1, 2, 3, and now 4
I've said this to a couple of people, but I never got into FF7. I got about 10, maybe 12 hours in, was bored as hell, and asked a few people when it started getting good. They're response was "Well, you've got to play about 20 to 30 hours to get to the good parts." Fuck that. I had better things to do with my time. It doesn't matter how amazing your story is if the first quarter of it is a slog to get through. Now take Dune. That was a hell of a long book, but it started off interesting, with some amazing characters that you could connect with immediatly, and it stayed interesting the whole way through.
This should be down in other games. I Agree with Haki in that that game was pretty bland. There were fun parts, mostly in side-quest related content, but Cloud was an unrelatable pile of soggy cardboard, Your main healer dies like a third of the way through, and is never replaced or recovered, and Sephiroth is just... lame. I respect that it was the portal game that pushed Final fantasy into the 3D world, but there are much better RPG's in the PS1 Library.
All the Final Fantasy games are pretty slow burners really. I loved FF6 when I was growing up because it was so different than anything I'd played, but can't get into 7 now even though they both pretty much follow the same formula. Can't hate on it though, since without it we wouldn't have the One Winged Acapella.
Honestly, super fan of FF7... too little/too late for the re-release for me. I'm done with consoles (and one game just isn't worth it). As for Cloud... found him pretty cool and I enjoyed Midgar and so on. Different strokes for different folks, though. I just hope they release it for PC eventually as well.
according to the article a PC version is already available. just get that. this announcement is just a lazy port to the PS4. Thanks Sony! (totally agree consoles are a waste of time these days... unless you're FIVE or don't know how to internet)

It's not just a remake. I've read that it's also going to be a revamp. Not just graphics, the story and battle system will be revamped as well.
Lies... Heresy...blasphemy.... They dear to corrupt the original story with some crazy new age bullshit... Time for boycotts... They need to have crisis core in as well... So people really know how much a peice of shit cloud really is...
