It still doesn't change the heartbreak of the Trilogy.

nope. though there will be 3 trilogies of mistborn. which is just a part of a larger universe. actually mistborn might be 4 trilogies planned now.

The original trilogy is the first in what Sanderson calls a "trilogy of trilogies." The second trilogy will be set in an urban setting, featuring modern technology. The sequel Mistborn: The Alloy of Law is not a start to the second trilogy but is rather a stand-alone short novel.[13] However, Sanderson's announcement on August 1, 2012 to write a sequel to Mistborn: The Alloy of Law, titled Shadows of Self,[14] means it will not stay a stand-alone novel, but it will not necessarily turn into the second trilogy.[15]

The Cosmere is the name of the universe in which the majority of Sanderson's books exist. This idea came from his desire to create an epic length series without requiring readers to buy a ridiculous number of books. Because of that he hides connections to his other works within each book, creating this "hidden epic". In the end the Cosmere Cycle will include between 32-36 books.[32]

The story of the Cosmere is about a mysterious being called Adonalsium, who existed on a world known as Yolen. Something made Adonalsium shatter into sixteen different Shards, of which each bears immense power. The sixteen people who took these Shards created new worlds, populating them with people and different types of magic. However, each Shard has an Intent, such as Ruin or Honor, and they became molded to it. A man named Hoid travels these so-called Shardworlds, interfering with the people of those worlds when they become heroes and come in contact with the Shards.[33]

people are wondering if allomancers go to a different planet in the cosmere would they still use allomancy or use that planets magic system. because the mistborn planet will supposedly get spaceflight before anyone else.

Superman XOR DBZ, Fictional science XOR Real science

This means that Superman and DBZ are not true at the same time.

All said, you can take whichever superhero from whichever universe and they will somehow roughly level up their powers the way monsters and bosses scale their strength in relation to heroic party.

You may have noticed by now how sometimes it is almost easier for a superhero to beat a villain alone than in a large group of other superheroes which includes the odd GOD with them. "Thanks for joining the party, asshole. Now Joker is suddenly immune to all physical based attacks... so thanks a lot!!!"

Also, you could probably take Tintin and put him together with Batman, Superman, Thor and Hulk and they'd probably all somehow scale to roughly same levels though some rules such as Hulk being invincible still apply so after roughly 30 minutes of clobbering Hulk would probably wear out Tintin.

The problems with merging superheroes are that they often have mutually exclusive traits. For instance one can have an attack that destroys everything (by definition) and the other one can have a defense that withstands everything. This is a paradox and implies that at least one of these two definitions is fundamentally flawed as both things cannot coexist in the same universe.

    Thus
all destroying attack XOR all withstanding defense
    etc.

So, as these kinds of obstacles are overcome, all of the individual math and rules are essentially thrown into bin and everything is further distantiated from 'reality' not that they hardly ever have anything to do with it in the first place. So you can't just move math and strength from one universe to another because it is not cool.

Yea. If it takes 1000 years to travel to a nearby star but the plot requires a central character that isn't in suspended animation for 1000 years..

The timespans can be so vast that it doesn't make very interesting reading or wouldn't allow for certain plots like interstellar wars (as it would be more like a summary of events over thousands of years).

Where the hell did they say Superman could lift 100 tons? The boy can lift planets. There's no upper limit on his powers. The longer he stays in the sun, the stronger he gets.

    Also,

Also, the gravity formula they use here may be bullshit, but the fact remains that Goku has limits and Superman doesn't. The ENTIRE POINT of Dragonball is that training and focus can push you to excel past your previous limits.

A Goku without limits to overcome or an enemy stronger than he is would be pointless.

In the grand scheme of this god saiyan Goku is not that strong.

Toriyama has stated that if Goku would be a 1, the God of destruction would be a 3, and whis is a 7.

Beerus is stated to destroy entire galaxies, sorry but superman just ain't that strong.

Another thing toriyama also said beerus name comes from.... Beer and Whis from obviously whiskey!!!

It still doesn't matter though. No matter how strong Goku becomes, he will always have limits. Superman doesn't. He can spend centuries inside a star if he has to, and emerge with Godly levels of power.

From a pure power standpoint, Superman is a bullshit character. He CANNOT lose fights for more than a momentary setback. For him to ever lose would defeat the entire point of his character. He's a final solution for people to look to when absolutely everything else has failed, which makes him probably the most famous metaphor for the divine (whatever you think that is) in comics.

But Goku, on the other hand, is meant to have limits. His entire character is based on that. Goku has lost multiple fights in Dragonball history, and the whole point of his character is learning from those failures and coming back stronger. He's even been straight up killed multiple times because he could not survive the damage being done to him. A Goku that was a strong as Superman would be pointless, and I don't even think Goku himself would want to be. The first time he gained divine ki, he was actaully upset by it. He didn't want to use power borrowed from outside sources to win, which means he's willing to risk losing or even dying to defeat an enemy by himself.

In short Superman wins the fight. And I honestly think Goku would be okay with that. It would give him a goal to push himself towards, even if he would probably never make it.

also isn't the point the fact that even though goku is almost always weaker then whoever he is fighting is all the martial art training? like using all the martial arts training to beat stronger opponents who never lost (and didn't have the training because they were always stronger).

Stopped reading on the thirb paragraph, too afraid of spoilers. But I didn't know any of this. I didn't even know what Mistborn was until I picked it up at a truckstop on my way back to Idaho this summer. Well, I guess I have a new verse to explore.

I thought that was the whole lesson in all of that? Power Levels never once worked for anyone. You just had to do your best.

And the funny thing, up until they met the main heroes, power levels obviously DID work. They wouldn't have continued to use scouters if they had a history of being wrong.

I think vegeta is actually more powerful then goku (till goku goes level 3) but goku has the experience of always fighting someone who is just as good or better/more powerful.
