She is an AI controlled by MJ12 and is meant to shape public opinions in favor of MJ12's goals.

I like the plot but am wary of the series after HR and it's "boss battles".

Also.. segregating a populace that shares a (likely) bond with your military is a bad idea.. unless the military cyborgs are already hacked and can't fight back. :tinfoilhat:

I see this as a sort of metaphor for fascist-level gun control, ie: "Outlaw augmentation and you're one step closer to dominating the, now defenseless, public".

From what I've heard, apparently that was one of the main things they addressed in this sequel.

This is dropping August 23rd and it looks like it will indeed improve on the last Deus Ex in every way possible (and yes, boss fights have been greatly improved).

    also, new challenge mode!

    super pumped.

though i'm pretty skeptical about what the breach mode will actually contribute to the game...hopefully they didn't spend a ton of time on it...

I think it was added as a way to maximize the use of their assets. You see it a lot with large development teams where one team may have less to do than others. I think the low texture resolution "tron-look" was a practical as much as artistic choice to allow them to pump extra gameplay in without requiring huge effort from the other teams (textures, elaborate world design, voice acting, etc). If it works how it's described on the box, I think it will actually be kind of brilliant and a great way to keep things fresh. I'm just glad it's not tacked on as day one paid-for DLC.

yeah that's kind of what i figured, but i hope it has a purpose beyond "hey here's this cool other thing we locked some upgrades behind but has nothing to do with the story"

you're right though, as long as it's included, no harm no foul. what are the DLC plans though? i couldn't find anything on the steam page about what the season pass actually will eventually deliver...

I don't have a lot to go on, but my impression is that it is just an extra and separate "challenge mode" that is not directly related to the main story other than taking place during roughly the same time.

In regards to furture DLC, sounds like they have more ambitious plans for DE:MD now that they know they have a triple-A competitor. I've seen mention about more "narrative DLC" than before:
    http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/08/20/mankind-divided-dlc-will-further-narrative/

It is really hard for me to recommend anyone buying a season pass; the whole idea of selling potentially vaporware with little chance of refund is a dangerous trend these days. That being said, it appears the publisher and devs are going "all-in" on this game to make it even better than the last one... so it *might* be worth it. If you have any doubt, though, don't buy the season pass.

Missing Link was very good story DLC for the Human Revolution. I think many people missed it for one reason or another, which is shame.
Hopefully they are planning doing similar DLC's for Mankind Divided too. Deepening story elements and revealing characters connections to events.

Last season pass I got was Fallout 4's. It has some nicecontent, but it was not worth $30. And after what just happened with No Man's Sky, I would be VERY cautious about preodering anything without knowing exactly what I'm getting beforehand.

And even then I'd be skittish about it.

Totally agree, Haki. Unless you just "really like" the devs, I really can't recommend getting season passes in general.

That being said, I did find some more info on the DE:MD season pass. I find it strange that this info was not posted on the Steam page, but it appears legit. At least you can decide for yourselves if this looks worth it:

yeah...my last 2 season passes were FO4 and the division. currently playing through far harbor and its amazingly atmospheric and nukaworld looks cool but if i had wanted to do more building i would have just downloaded some mods that do more and do more better. and the division? well...at least i got it on cdkeys...

Welp several people I know have said very good things about this, and my friend who reviews games apparently spent 19 hours straight with a review copy.... so I guess it's apparently pretty decent

Biggest complaints were mouse acceleration and such, hows it handling for you? Personally I don't find that a big issue in general but some people are picky
