reminds me of Starshatter: The Gathering Storm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vV3f-Jarnt0
My first thought was "Hey everybody, lets all jump on the space sim train, CHOO, CHOO!" Then I looked up and saw I'd posted on this almost two years ago. Still looks like a lot of fun.
Yea def Homeworld vibe in a good way. So mix of first person space sim and pause tactical order giving? Looks cool. Although jumping from joystick to mouse would be a little awkward, interested to see how the controls work.
so this game, now called House of the Dying Sun, is now out in early access. I finally got my oculus DK2 working with steam VR and HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME. WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK ISN'T THERE A TIE FIGHTER/X-WING GAME FOR THIS
this makes me happy especially since my laptop comes back tomorrow and I get to hook up the CV1 that I picked up yesterday
I'm totally lost trying to figure it out but that is fine because it is amazing with the CV1!! after spending some time having a blast in dcs I was a bit saddened by the lack of resolution and screen door effect that the CV1 has but this game works beautifully with it. That's not to say that the resolution is lower and the screen door is gone, you just don't notice it as much.
Played a solid 2 hours of this yesterday. Has a strong vibe of the Homeworld series... in the best way. Campaign progression feels a little like Star Fox (multiple branching pathways, but you may replay old missions for better rewards) without any of the cartoonish silliness. The military radio chatter is very immersive. Highly recommended. VR with this must be truly epic.
