We are going to be voting for the future of Skjaldborg Racing. This is your chance to affect how things will be done. Voting will be closed on Monday 25th July If you need info about the content choices they can be found here: http://game.raceroom.com/store/ 1. What time and day? Late Friday Early Saturday Late Saturday Early Sunday 2. What car class will we use? Audi Sport TT Cup F4 GT3 Silhouette Series (Free) My recommendation is the Audi Sport TT Cup. It's often described as the ideal rookie car but still challenging to drive. An interesting feature is the "push-to-pass". Spoiler: Push-to-pass The Audi Sport TT Cup car features the so-called “push-to-pass” function, which gives the car an extra engine boost of 22 kW (30 hp) for 10 seconds, followed by a 20 second cooldown phase, before it can be used again. A blue LED light will signalize when a driver has pressed the push-to-pass button. The number of allowed activations during the race is determined by the starting position: Grid rows 1-3: 15 activations Grid rows 4-6: 15+1 activations Grid rows 7-9: 15+2 activations Grid rows 10-12: 15+3 activations 3. Tracks Only free tracks European Track Pack My recommendation is the European Track Pack. It gives us the most choice as going only free will mean that we only have 2 tracks. Compared to the 21 if we use the European Track Pack.
Track Voting. Give each track of those avaible 1 to 5 points. 5 points is something you conisder a must have while 1 point is something you don't want to see. Tracks will then be chosen by which one got the most point. Waiting for further vote results before track voting becomes avaible.
May I suggest truncating your selection a bit? I feel like there are more voting options than there are people. For times, why not just have "early" and "late" times. For time between races, I recommend bi-weekly. Until we get a more hardcore following, I recommend multiple shorter races. As far as what car to pick, who cares; why dont you pick it Aspius? Does it really matter as long as people show up? I recommend picking a car that is easy to drive for new players. Most players wont care what tracks we pick; just pick something easier. I don't think most people have an opinion on #8 or 9. Basically, until we get a bigger following, I recommend keeping it as simple as possible. Get the numbers first and then you can expand upon it. Hope some of this helps.
It definetly helped. I went abit out of control with the original but it's adjusted now. Still listing a couple options for cars but I removed most of them and left the most "popular" content and my recommendation. Same for tracks. Biggest problem is if we want to remain with only using free content or have more options by buying some content.
For now... at least until we get a good headcount... I would definitely recommend sticking with the free content. You are more likely to draw more players that way.
I'm free for early Sunday right now, but my schedule for work changes starting in August, leaving me with no definite time where I can be free, again. I'd like to stick to free cars and tracks for the time being, but I'd be interested in adding the Nordschleife in the future.
We will do another free series then. Using the Silhouette series again running on the 2 tracks Raceroom Raceway and Portimao Circuit. What layouts will be used have not been decided yet. I'm thinking of doing 5 events with 2 races at each event. So, 10 races. There will be changes to the layout of the event due to making it a double race. Spoiler: will look something like this Practice 1 Qualifier 1 Race 1 Practice 2 Qualifier 2 Race 2 Practice 1 is there to allow some time for people to connect while practice 2 is to allow for a short break between the races. Both races will be done using the same track layout. We will make some changes to the difficulty. Most of it will be enabling more driving assist for the sake of the controller and keyboard players. I will also disable damage to make it more friendly for new players who have little experience with racing. Tyre wear and fuel usage make no difference in the short races that we do. Rules will most likely remain the same. With most important bit being that you have to slow down when you cut the track.
+100 for forcing a slowdown when you cut the track. Dropping the entire lap is a huge disincentive especially when the track cutting was not intentional or even beneficial to the racer--I get massively discouraged when the tiniest mistake means you have to start over...
