the original ghost recon was one of my all-time favorite tom clancy games, while they've certainly all gone console-arcadey this looks enough like Clear and Present Danger the game for me to be stoked
i'd be expecting solo play with some command abilities, but i honestly don't know they'll probably have co-op option since every game under the sun seems to have it these days....
AWAKEN I'll withhold my judgement for now, but watching that video got me more interested than I had previously been.
I got really interested when they first announced it but lost it when they showed off the first gameplay. This latest video doesn't really change anything for me. I will still probably get it so that I can play coop with you guys but that would be the only reason. Unless they show off something really awesome before release which I doubt.
was really excited about this game initially as i was really hoping for a more hardcore experience. holy casual arcade balls batman. how did the tom clancy name, especially the ghost recon name, get tied to this? looks basically like "far cry: tacticool" i'm sure i'll check it out at some point but damn, that footage kinda took the wind from my hype sails. guess i'll be waiting on the reviews...
It reminds me of Division, but without the ridiculous damage-sponge enemies. So in that way at least, its an improvement. I'm really loathe to buy another $60 Ubisoft game unless it really brings something amazing to the table. If it turns out to be great, I'm not opposed to getting it, but definitely NOT pre-ordering this. As far as I remember, all the Ghost Recon games had solid Co-op. This had better too.
based on this reddit thread I wouldn't be holding out a lot of hope: https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comm...osed_beta_discussion/?st=iyroamx9&sh=f69570dc
It sounds like what i expected. A relatively standard ubisoft open world in that its big but empty. Hearing that the character and weapon customisation is good is a nice surprise but its not enough from the sounds of it. The things i did not expect to see was the talk off all the bugs and the horrible vehicle gameplay. Especially with the release being only a month away.
It's almost as if Ubisoft is trying to blend all their games into being the same experience. How boring.
These are my first impressions of the current open beta. It's 9 days until game release (release is on 7th March). I have spent slitghtly less then 2 hours in the game. I'm not going to mention anything about the story since i havent really seen anything from it but i am going to mention the open world. The open world is beautiful but rather standard. It reminds me alot of the open world from games like Far Cry 4 or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. If you like the open world in those games i'm sure you will enjoy this one aswell. Gameplay wise it reminds me alot of Tom Clancy's The Division (which was very good) except removing the bullet sponge. However it does feel like its abit clunkier. Vehicle gameplay is important for an open world of this size. You have fast travel points but you are still going to need to use vehicles alot. The cars aren't too bad they mostly feel abit ridiculous with how they handle and bounce around. The helicopter are bad though. I'm hoping it will get abit better as i get more used to it but we will see. Overall, what i can say after having only played it for a short time is that it's good however at some places it feels abit rough around the edges. I definetly believe that it will be a good and solid coop game that many of us will enjoy. Depending on how much i try the game before release i might write up something more.
I wouldn't expect anything given its 9 days from release. At this point everything is normally set in stone and only testing servers for release is going on. But you never know, maybe just maybe vivendi games put some fear into them to make a quality release.
