    This thread will cover all info concerning our ongoing Battletech campaign.

    For starters, let me explain a little more about the exhibition tournament we are having. This will serve as a "warm up" for the upcoming campaign.

    The purpose of the tournament will be strictly FOR FUN and everyone will be encouraged to participate:
    • All members are invited to join the tourrnament and we will broadcast every match on Discord.
    • Players who don't own Battletech can still play by "piggybacking" off someone else through Remote Play.
    • Tournament can be Single Elimination, Round Robin, or some combination of the two (w/ runner ups).
    • Maps will be drawn at random per match.
    • Weather will be drawn at random per match.
    • Players can pick any of the available pilots.
    • Lance value will be limited to 25 million C-bills for more variety in Lance composition.
    • No limits to Lance loadout other than cost value.
    • The top six players each get to pick one Mech as part of our starting force in the following dynamic campaign after the tournament has concluded (a total of six Mechs).

    Tournament bracket is posted. Player lots will be pulled at random. After Monday, signup for tournament will be closed. Matches will begin soon after based on competing player availability (TBA).

    Monday (tomorrow) is the cut-off point for registering for the tournament. We have 12 that confirmed already, but all members are welcome to join and we have plenty of room for more.

    After Monday, I will draw lots at random to determine startiing bracket seating. Scheduling will be based entirely on player availability; we don't need everyone there, just the two opponents playing next. Tournament will be double elimination so even if you get paired up with someone tough right away, you will still have a chance to come back from it. After the tournament is completed, there will be a short delay to give me time to organize the campaign... and then we get into the real meat of it all.

    FINALIZED TOURNAMENT RULES:
    1. The tournament will be "Double Elimination" with some rounds set for "Round Robin" to keep things interesting. See bracket sheet for info.
    2. Any number of losses during a single round of Round Robin still counts as "1 loss" for purposes of elimination from tournament.
    3. We will use a custom multiplayer mod that will improve balance and create more diversity in strategy. A link is provided at the end of this post.
    4. Maximum Lance Value Cap = 25 million C-bills
    5. You may pick any mechs available in skirmish with mod active (ie. no lostech will be available)
    6. The pilots and Mech chassis' you pick for your first game is what you will be locked to for the duration of the tournament.
    7. You may ONLY change weapons and equipment loadout on your mechs between matches.
    8. You may practice as much as you like on your own before a scheduled match.
    9. If you do not own the game, you may "piggy back" off someone else through Steam Remote Play.
    10. Scheduling will be handled by admin and times/dates will be determined by who is next scheduled to play.
    11. DO NOT BE LATE!; you are expected to be "ready to go" when it is your time for a match. Excessive tardiness may lead to forfeit.
    12. If you agree to a time to meet up for a game, you are expected to be there! "No shows" will NOT be rescheduled and count as a forfeit.
      (not trying to be mean, it's just that we have a LOT of matches to cover).

    BATTLETECH TOURNAMENT UPDATE:

    We gave it a good try, but due to complications with the way the netcoding handles mods (or lack there of), we wiill be force to revert back to vanilla settings for the duration of the tournament (ie. no mods). The drawback to this is the game "balance" will not be optimized for multiplayer, but it's a better option than nixing the whole tournament. You can safely delete the "Mods" folder; it should have no long term affects with your game, although you may have to remake any designs you made in skirmish mechlab while the mod was active. Since the issue is specifically multipllayer, we will return to the Mods for the campaign that will follow the tournament. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but we had no better options.

    PS: Sorry I forgot to link this earlier, but I have a map selection randomizer table everyone should use. This is to keep people on their toes. Be sure to reroll for EVERY match.
