CST GMT -6 Same as above
    3) We are hoping to group people into lances based on times that are convenient for them. Do you have any preferences or suggestions on people you wish to group with?

Full player involvement = creation of a player character and regular attendance (within reason) and tracking of a campaign (1 mission every 1-2 weeks)
4b) What type class do you wish to role; Mechwarrior, Aerospace, Tanker, VTOL, other?

    1) What meeting days are good for you? Is after other SoR stuff on Weds/Sat good?:

Weekends are best, but I can be on most nights.

    2) What timezone are you in or, more specifically, what time of day is good for you?

PST. Later at night helps (8pst + ) Weekends can be early or late

    3) We are hoping to group people into lances based on times that are convenient for them. Do you have any preferences or suggestions on people you wish to group with?

    None in particular

4a) At what capacity do you wish to participate:
Full player involvement = creation of a player character and regular attendance (within reason) and tracking of a campaign (1 mission every 1-2 weeks)
Full player involvement and mission running = same as first choice but also interested in an administrative/moderator role
Part-time/Fill-in player = creation of a character, but only occasional participation when time permits (1-2 mission per month)
NPC player = no character creation and playing only as various NPCs or oppositional forces
Strictly administrative role = interested in helping to plan a campaign, but not being directly involved in missions
Cheerleader = can't be involved, but will gladly encourage others :)

    Full Player Involvement

4b) What type class do you wish to role; Mechwarrior, Aerospace, Tanker, VTOL, other?

    Tanker

5)Anything not already mentioned you wish to add or ask?

Interested in running vehicles/Vtols. I have experience in TT and MegaMek, but I'm probably a little rusty. I've never used MegaHQ or campaign bits before

By the way, the next step for many of you is to get in touch with someone who can add you to the "actual" campaign. That means we need you on TS so we can go over your character. That also means talking to me currently. I've been too busy with (real) work and updating/patching this campaign game mechanics to spend much time on the forums. Our next mission is this friday. If you want to get involved, i suggest you show up then (see mission 11 thread for details). If you want to make less work for me (highly recommended!), try to catch me on teamspeak EARLY BEFORE the mission actually starts.

Please note that this week might be a little hard to reach me as I have family in town and they are being (as always) a pain in my ass.

    Other IMPORTANT info found here:
    http://www.uobgaming.com/showthread.php?1150-MEGAMEK-CAMPAIGN

PMs are also good. I admit I have been bad about checking them. Will try to do better about that from now on.

    1) What meeting days are good for you? Is after other SoR stuff on Weds/Sat good?:

    Whenever others have time.

    2) What timezone are you in or, more specifically, what time of day is good for you?

I'm in GMT+2 but currently on a rolling shift schedule so basically whenever I'm not working. In a month I'm back on a more normal schedule (back to studies and family)

    3) We are hoping to group people into lances based on times that are convenient for them. Do you have any preferences or suggestions on people you wish to group with?

Not really, socialized with most people involved in the campaign.

4a) At what capacity do you wish to participate:

Part-time/Fill-in player = creation of a character, but only occasional participation when time permits (1-2 mission per month)

Since I don't really know when I'll be able to join or in what time of the day.

4b) What type class do you wish to role; Mechwarrior, Aerospace, Tanker, VTOL, other?

    Mechwarrior

5)Anything not already mentioned you wish to add or ask?

Played some oneoff games of megamek, but I don't know anything about character creation or other campaign stuff.

Assuming no one drops off the face of the earth, Gihzmo will be our final Mechwarrior for now. That brings us up to 16 mechwarriors. Assuming Aspius stays Aerospace, that also maxes out our Aerospace (four). I will be updating our dropship capacity but you can expect to see slots available for more tankers and VTOL pilots. I think a company of each will be sufficient. Keep in mind for you ground pounders out there, we are currently limited to 50 ton tanks or smaller (I highly recommend the Goblin MBT or MkIII). VTOLs max out at 30 tons. The good news is that both are cheap to buy/replace in mass quantities.

    Totals should be as follows:

    Reinforced Company (16 mechs)

    Reinforced Air Lance (4 Aerospace)

    Support Battalion:
-Command Support Company (12 support vehicles, transports, etc.)
    -Combat Vehicle Company (12 tanks)
    -Air Support Company (12 VTOLs)

Keep in mind, this is just for now. Part of the reason is because our dropship's vehicle bays only fit 50 tons or smaller. Part of it is also so we don't have all our tankers starting in Demolishers. :unamused:

Mocosloco, Sayrus, and Luxan: will need to see you on TeamSpeak so that we can get your characters set. I can't do anything until you do that. Character creation guides can be found here in the first post:
    http://www.uobgaming.com/showthread.php?1150-MEGAMEK-CAMPAIGN

Take a look at them and get familiar.

And like I said, check out my Goblins. They are quite lethal for 45 tons. There are "rumors" of an advanced Lostech design being made available soon...

    -EDIT-

All weight classes are now open, but you must retain a minimum top speed of 65 kph (4/6 in hex movement). This is to prevent us from getting bogged down

After checking with the local gaming stores to see if any of them played table top, the resounding answer is no. And the ones that do are too far out of the way, so this thread is a godsend.
VTOLs or tanks under 50 tons? Alright I'll roll with that. I'll admit I never played megamek before though so I'll probably sit in on a session or two to get used to the layout before dropping in.

The only days I'm not available in EST are Tue/Thur from 6am until 10pm, wed from 6pm-9:30pm, and Friday from 8pm to 1am. If you see me playing horse adventures, just hop down in ts3 and let me know if a sessions going on, or PM me on the forum ahead of time.

Second verse same as the first. EST.

Sooo, Evenings/Late night American times player mostly. Like I said, PM me ahead of time if you need me for something else.

No preference. I'll get along well with most.

hmm.. part time until I'm more comfortable with the format, then full as I start playing more often.

Researching VTOLs and Tanks now. I'll get back to ya on that.
    I like aircraft though.

What era/year in game for the purpose of choosing canonical vehicles? Also any youtube links I should watch that will get me more familiarized with the layout?

The next campaign will be in 3048. Magnus is allowing the use of a lot of "Star League" stuff, XLs, FF armor, ERs, etc.

Anyone know the production date on the Yellow Jacket VTOL? Nothing says HELL YEA like an aircraft built around a gun.

Alright, took a look at the character creation documents. Sensory overload at first but I understand it now, so that was the easy part.

aaaaaand.. character's done except for the ability points.... I'm waiting to decide on what vehicle to use before selecting an ability based on it's load out.

    Decided on VTOL btw

Unfortunatly the yellow jacket is a 3058 design, but look up the Warrior VTOL, it had some excellent options for stand off engagement.

Magnus has some crazy VTOL designs out there too, I believe. Probably something that would fit that Yellow Jacket role.

MegaMek ain't so bad, TBH, especially not if you're already played tabletop. We have a good crowd who are pretty quick at getting people up to speed. ;)

Sending you a PM with the Hamachi connection info.

Thought about it, but I decided on Magnus' Harbinger-R. Nice up close surprise attack damage with a long range option.
