I used to play online and single player a lot. After I built a calculator I took a break. lol. Used to play on an anarchy server where me and a few other folks had a pretty awesome base. Had a mob farm and chest always full of TNT. Would go around finding and pillaging bases. Lots of fun. PVP was actually very fun in that game. Once you had potions and crazy enchants you could really overpower yourself and it made it not so fun. Wish I still had some pics of the builds I had. Any of yall have a pref server?
Currently don't have a server that I frequent, but I prefer mostly-vanilla Faction mod Survival servers, ideally without any economy mods. Anarchy servers are alright, though I'm not crazy about PvP in Minecraft. I'm more interested in building fortifications and attempting to break into other people's bases. Now that 1.3 is finally out I'm tempted to get back into Minecraft, mostly for the large biomes. If anyone wants another partner I'd be happy to jump in.
I currently play Minecraft pretty regularly. I got back into it once 1.3 pre-release landed, and have been enjoying the heck out of the most recent additions. I do host a vanilla server so I can play with friends on occasion, if anyone is interested just send me a PM and I'll send you the IP.
I play Minecraft, although not regularly. If we get a server up I'd be more than happy to join you guys. And Dihm, I know what you mean, after a while I start getting a headache too. It's not the FOV, it's probably the visual style; some people's brains just don't like hard edges with too much colour, as Minecraft frequently displays.
Hrm.. me thinks we should have a Skjaldborg Minecraft night... Find a nice seed and just start building. Who'd be game for that?
That's an affirmative, but who has enough bandwidth to run the server. Or we planning on renting one?
Well, I can handle it within reason. I'm sure I could do ~10 people just fine, but I have no idea how well I could handle more than that. The most I've ever done at one time (counting myself) was 6.
Yesterday i hosted a minecraft server. We were up to 8 players at one time and i had no problems. Players: Deathwatch SteelBear Gheist Axevid David Ravenwater Aspius MyrskyArkkoni Val PotaZzium (friend of Axevid) That should be all who played
I ran a server, had a harry potter land, a maga city land, and a few others, it was kinda fun. but I couldn't host more than like 5 people. so it got boring, quickly.
Well either way, we could probably get something up and running sometime during the remainder of this week/weekend.
in the server properties file, theres a line online-mode=true. This needs to be set to false, for people who ... dont log in to the minecraft servers, but still connect to other people. if you know what I Arrrr getting at.
Sorry about the server going down last night if any of you tried to play... Apparently windows found something more important to do (I could've sworn that I had disabled automagic updates). In any case, the server is back up now and I think the total downtime was something along the lines of 2 hours. On another note, we've gained quite a lot of players. I have 18 different players that have been logged in.
