So that we can go to Germany in August
Can't remember the last time I got excited over Wacken. Especially since they let bands like Devil Driver and Lamb of God play. You should check out Bloodstock. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloodstock_Open_Air
http://www.tuska-festival.fi/en/ Lots of semi-sober Finns, dressed in black leather in the warmest time of the year.
Summer Breeze seems awesome too, they got Alestorm, Ensiferum, Dying Fetus, Flehsgod Apocalypse, In Flames, Korpiklaani, Letzte Instanz and Sabaton just to name a few... Sadly I cant go to any of theese
Just a word of warning about Bloodstock for those that care about getting shitfaced at a reasonable price... the security has gone from being relaxed and friendly about allowing alcohol into the arena to being bastards that properly search everyone in an attempt to force purchase of the over-priced cak their sponsors have on sale. It was at this point that I stopped going to Bloodstock. The searching also creates annoying queues when you wish to see a band.
Remind me of when I was at Sweden rock festival and they had the same search bullshit. They were searching my friend but for some reason they didn't bother to check the 5 litre "plastdunk" filled with moonshine he had in his hand...
Ohh when I worked security, they made us do the same shit. I usually let people slide unless they also had someone that they were obviously going to use as a weapon... One dude tried to sneak in 12 feet of industrial chain across his belly and I was just shaking my head the entire fucking time wondering how the fuck he thought he'd get that in.
LoG and Devil Driver are playing this year, funny shit considering. And don't all festivals deny alcohol being taken into the venue these days?
think that might just be Australia, or when they only want you to buy from the concert franchise stands.
