Path of Exile Open Beta Starts January 23rd

I'll definitely give this a run in OB

 

FYI I believe the patch download is now available and open beta starts in about 1.5 hours.

 

Their download server is, not surprisingly, pretty slow atm. Been downloading for an hour and only gotten a couple of hundred MB so far

 

I actually downloaded it last night on a whim, so it was pretty fast for me

 

Gonna have to patch this and MWO when I get home.

FML.

 

Yea on Reddit people have been saying they are in queues of 800 people already

 

Of course I did, just look at its silly little body. It would've been criminal not to have bought him.

I only wish there was an in-game cuddle function :disturbed:

 

I solo'd around a bit and got a Shadow up to lvl 6. So far I'm liking what I see, the inventory system and skill system are pretty interesting.

Is anyone else doing the hardcore league? It makes playing a lot more interesting and even if you die you just get sent to the default league.

Not I. Just poking around with the different classes in the standard league. Not sure which one/s I like so far. Looking for a minion class that isn't as feeble as the Witch but haven't really stumbled upon any. Thought the Ranger might but I'm 7 levels in and have yet to see anything of the sort.

 

I'm doing my first character in reg, if I like it enough will go HC going forward. Level 22 shadow atm

 

The Templar and Shadow classes have access to raise dead fairly early on and are closer to minion buff parts of the skill tree.

So far I'm liking it as much as I did when I tried it out on closed beta. So far my main characters I'm playing around with are a lvl 21 elemental/evasion armor ranger, lvl 16 coldcrit witch and a lvl 10 Templar summoner.

 

I'll link my build later, but basically a leech shadow with ES and leech gding to ES, claws for leech and lightning strike as main skill as its melee and multi target

Claws, lightning strike, looots of ES gear required along wit life/mana leech.

 

I'm enjoying my templar (level 12 atm), named Sheogoraath

 

So far 3 Hardcore classes. 2 dead. Currently a level 17ish Ranger

 

Well, started HC Templar. Went through Terraces, found a rare sceptre and a unique amulet. Awesome start!

Went to the little side area on the island there, frozen solid and hacked to pieces before unfreezing........

grr

 

So far I've got a level 13 Shadow in HC named Ljnk. I had a Templar before him but I liked Shadow better so I just gave the shadow all his good gear and it really helped early on.
