I saw this, planning to check out the TV show, not too interested at the moment as I have too many games to play, but let me know if its decent.
I'll at least check it out and report, doubt I'll play it at any length unless is really fun. Kinda sounds like a Rift with PlanetSide characters. /shrug
I am in it as well. I didn't get to play much over the last weekend, since it was a double xp weekend. that... and the servers weren't really all that stable. I'll give it a chance when it comes out.
Well this is not a great/fair/well thought out review, but played about 10 mins got bored and decided to watch American Idol. =\
OK, I think NDA is lifted now, played a couple hours this weekend and it is pretty fun. Reminds me of Rift with Guns. I have no idea what the end game will be, but I was generally amused questing. I played a survivor aka sniper. You get a Quad to drive around. Quest, upgrade your gear, kill stuff. Not terrible difficult to solo at least as far as I have gone. They have big attacks by the baddies, just like Rift, that pop up randomly all over.
I really enjoyed the beta this weekend. I have pre-purchased and will be ready to go on the 2nd. Looking forward to the show as well. I thought a lot of the content was pretty challenging personally. Especially when I played without cloaking. Rift was one of my favorite MMOs and this has a lot of the same elements, plus it is a 3rd person shooter. I will say, Rift had one of the most stable and smooth launches of any MMO I have ever seen. So I have faith in Trion to deliver a very smooth launch.
I've watched some videos... and it looks like the PC version is a pretty bad console port (menus look horribad).
Coupon at GMG for $15 off So... 2 races (human and red-skinned human), fairly poor character creation/customization... meh. Nice clipping issues too, on their starting weapon/model.
I did not really notice any issue with Menus, but I just used hot keys to get to them. I never use those screen thingies. I think I might buy it just to drive around jumping my quad or pick-up off of cliffs and bridges and running over bad guys. One of the pre-buys gets a dodge charger I think LOL. I wonder if you can get a dukes of hazard paint job on it!!
Good review-ish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ryzJnhgtNQU Neziah, let me know your in game name, we can hook up and play.
Yea, in an interview they stressed to people to think about their character names, please for gods sake, think about your character names.
Found out something interesting about Defiance today: http://community.defiance.com/en/20...ts-been-amazing-but-why-do-we-still-have-lag/ What’s our DLC plan? – I’ve seen a lot of you mention this and this is material for an entire blog post because there is so much I want to talk about. However, let’s be short. There are at least 5 DLCs this year. They all have a free and paid component. We do not want to segregate our playerbase so we always want everybody be able to participate and play with friends. The free part is features and content, the paid part is essentially, say, access to a new playable species with a bundle of stuff with it. The upcoming TV tie-ins aren’t DLCs that cost either. It’s all yours.
