Italian Aviation Tech tree is on the way.

The first preorder plane is the Fiat CR.32. It was the most widely used aircraft during the Spanish Civil War.

The second one is the Fiat G.55 Centauro. More specifiaclly the Silurante prototype that can carry a torpedo. It's designation is G.55S

What is the tiny prop for on the top wing?

The main fuel tank, located between the engine and cockpit, carried 325 litres. There was another small tank (25 litres) in the "torpedo" fairing in the center of the upper wing.

I think it's a fuel tank. What the propeller itself is for i don't know. Maybe something to do with getting the fuel to the engine?

I'm not seeing that prop on any of the historical images for the plane, there is a device that kinda looks like that minus the prop in the center of the upper biplane wing though, if I was to hazard a guess I'd imagine that's for measuring air speed and someone in the design team misinterpreted it for some reason. That, or they found some pictures I'm not seeing.

While I don't have any experience with that specific aircraft, I'm not surprised to see a wind generator on there. They are often found on aircraft of that period as the means for electrical power. Small propeller turns a generator to provide electrical power to the aircraft systems. Early aircraft engines didn't have provisions for mounting additional accessories such as generators (precursors to the alternators we see today) and vacuum pumps to run instruments. You will still see this technology in use today in many aircraft from military fighters to airliners where they call them a RAT (ram air turbine) and are used to provide back up electrical generation in case of the loss of all engine driven electrical generators and back up hydraulic pressure for flight controls and landing gear operation.
This is an older style one mounted on a J3 Cub on the landing gear, I used to fly one with a newer style one in the same place.

Here is one deployed on a commercial airliner.

I had a thought that it might be something like this, I just have never seen this sort of implementation. I've seen the airliner ones before, mostly from Mayday(the show).

Eh, maybe I'll pick it back up, I just got tired of them squashing sim and realistic modes.

If not for the fact that Gaijin ruined whatever goodwill I had for them after the bush camo debacle, I would be excited about this.

I'm kinda disappointed they're doing Italian planes but haven't shown an SM.79 Sparviero...

It's already in the game. Italy have previously been part of the German tree. It will be moved over to the new Italian tree.

    1. Puma (50mm 4th version - there was a 75mm version too)
    2. M60A2 Starship (we built this city!)
    3. Fiat G.91 (aka the longest serving LCAS aircraft possibly ever - served in some armies until 2002, released in 1956)

The SM.79's along with the MC.202's and G50s are in the German tree at the moment - to be moved from the German for new players or duplicated if you already have them.

They made a few changes to that thanks to the many complaints about it - you can earn them now (with a buttload of work) without gold, they don't render further than 300m and absolute render distance for all tanks is now set at 250m. This mean the only time they'll be "invisible" or rather very hard to spot is between 250 and 300 meters away.

It's still a pain but much less than it used to be. To the point where even at very high tiers you'll only see one or two fuckers with bushes on - and usually with "campy" tanks like casemate TD's. The average high Tier MBT almost never has them on even when available as they actually increase silhouette in some cases - and are dead giveaways on City maps.

Let me rephrase - it's now far less of a problem than the broken premium tanks they've put in (looking at the IS-6 here) and a broken damage model on some tanks (you can kill a Ferdinand with a 7.62mm coaxial if you aim just right).

FINALLY! WING SPARS STOP THE *SPARKLE* SHIT! This is the primary source of most of your *SPARKLE* hits on aircraft's wings. 4+ years later they apparently fix it, testing will reveal if it actually happened. Bad news bears for allies if this is true though. The Japs will finally become much better.

Here is the description for it for those that dont want to bother looking
It's not really fixing anything when it comes to sparkling. There were some planes that didnt take any damage on the wing spars from AP rounds and its a fix for that plus that 20mm or smaller guns will also deal abit more dmg now to wing spar and fuel tank.

Most sparkling comes from the fact that your game registers it as a hit while the server says its a miss. All guns suffer from it, its just more obvious on larger and slower firing guns.

Combined with "some" belts having AI-T rounds (Adjustment Incendiary - Tracer) that exist basically to spark and only spark (used during night fighting to help the pilot tell if the stream tracers are actually hitting something) and you have loads of sparking happening - sometime legitimate, other times it's a server de-sync.

In ground forces this happens if you have a +200ms ping (like me) the bad guy's turret shows it's still rotating towards you while it's been on you for a 5th of a second, and any accompanying packet loss causes the effect to exacerbate (I've had a KV-2 kill me while my screen showed me he was looking almost 40 degrees off me).
