From from shit. Rezero? No idea what the actual name is if that is it. Eh. She is rather meh. Also "kawaii coefficient"
I like that he paired that hipster-Patrick-Bateman-lookin' motherfucker with Ayanami Rei. It's what she would want.
Only in anime do the real questions get asked... like "if a battleship could impersonate the physical nature and behavior of a school girl, would you fuck it"?
Well that movie will probably suck. Apparently Hollywood just approved a live action gundam movie. But It's going to be based off 00 not UC (one year war with rx-78, Amuro and white base). Probably something to with 00 being more relatable (no space colonies, allot of strife between countries, no central government/earth not united).
So they picked the most progressively political driven gundam and also the second worst of the lot. It could have been gundam G fighter though.. which could have easily been another pacific rim type movie. If done right it would have been awesome.
That one would have been awesome. Also 00 probably isn't as low on the list as you think. reconguista is terrible. 00 isn't any of the good ones though. I think theyshould have gone more thunderbolt or 8th ms team.
8th MS would've been awesome, presuming they were willing to put forth the effort. But you know they'll probably hire Michael Bay and just go for more Transformers.
Watched Inuyashiki: Last Hero on a whim (through Amazon Prime) with no idea what to expect and was surprised to learn it wasn't half bad. The show starts with the protagonist (a meek 56 year old man) being diagnosed with cancer, before a "freak accident" changes him forever. I know that sounds kind of boring and unrelatable, but the show will surprise you. What is noteworthy about this show is that the characters feel very natural in their behavior of modern Japan. Even the antagonist will surprise you. Other positives include: short series; good for people with busy schedules zero filler zero distracting fan service (unless shirtless old man is your fetish I guess) short cameo of Donald Trump (which was both a hilarious and sad reminder of what people overseas are associating the US with now) Here's a longer review that gives it a fair shake if you are interested: Overall, it's not the best anime I've seen, but it was definitely interesting and with a few good surprises. I would recommend for anyone looking for something new and above-average.
Can you tell I've been catching up on my video streaming? Lol. "Land of the Lustrous" is a show I really had no expectation of actually enjoying, but ended up enjoying quite a bit. The main character, Phos, is genuinely likable and the story premise is very unusual. There are sincerely funny and sad moments. There's real character growth and a mystery to uncover. The action and animation is truly incredible (best CGI in anime I've seen yet). It's completely free of any cringy fan service so its safe for both kids and girlfriends. Also, the title theme is catchy as hell. In many ways, the show feels like stepping into Wonderland. Everything is very surreal. The show surprised me in much the way Made In Abyss did; it looks like a show just for children, but there's some really good writing and character development under the surface. Currently, the story ends a bit on a cliffhanger, but hopefully this gets another season. Another good review on it:
Even by my standards it's... not good. The main character is a lecherous old man in a child's body, which is already skeevy enough, but his foil is the personification of one of those pillows with an anime girl printed on them, so not only does he never get what's coming to him, he can evidently do whatever he wants and she never even reacts. The talking pig is weird, which would be fine if it were a weird show but it's kind of just a generic fantasy setting so she sticks out like a sore thumb. And then the bar is also a GIANT pig for... reasons? And he just Mary Sues his way through everything, which could work except everything else makes me question if the author actually has the skill to pull that off. I can appreciate shows aimed at kids, but this one's solidly in the "kids deserve better shows than this" category.
