Something for you MMO fans to pay attention to, if you haven't been already.

No box cost, no P2W, $15/month Subscription Sandbox MMO. Met it's crowd funding goals 3 years ago, including a 30m private investment from the games Creative Director. The game operates on a node system, where the entire world is originally all wilderness. And completing quests, killing mobs, and harvesting resources within a node will level it up, and eventually an outpost will crop up that can eventually be leveled into a fort, town, city, capitol, etc. It seems to pull heavily from Eastern Sandbox player driven MMO's like Archeage and TERA. It's completely player driven. The players choose which nodes to level up and advance, and which buildings and quest hubs get produced in the nodes. This means no two servers on the game will be alike, with every server choosing a different node leveling route.

More information can be found in the video, and it does the game way more justice than I can do in a short blurb.

If enough people are interested in playing this game I will be willing to as well, I am not a huge fan of integral PvP, it has been my experience that in any game where players are given the freedom to PvP without restriction people inevitably abuse the freedom for their own amusement and in game penalties are never sufficient to dissuade those whose sole purpose are the grief of others, either through exploits or simply ignoring the penalties related to the system. But this can be effectively muted simply by having enough friends to reduce your ease of grief, it's easy to find a few like minded asshats, more difficult to put together a large number of them and consequently the larger groups generally have a limited effect, frustratingly annoying where they are, but generally avoidable if you can't outright negate them. I am interested to see how the nodes will work and I think it'd be awesome if we could establish a viking stronghold for ourselves! (even if the stronghold might not have a viking theme due to individual racial selections) Not sure how I feel about the lack of fast travel and extreme limit on flying mounts but I guess we'll see how that works.
