I'll take BF 2 over any of the modern crap, any day. (Ironic being that BF2's tagline was Modern Combat)
Oh hey look. An ancient BF3 thread. If there was one good thing to come from the SimCity launch debacle it was a free copy of BF3. After simmering for two weeks upon discovering there was no in-game server browser (or pretty much any UI what-so-ever) I finally figured out the web-broswer-thing and managed to find a couple servers over the weekend. I've been enjoying the game considerably since, that is until I discovered there was no in-game voice chat the other night. Since most players coordinate about as well as gas in a sealed container, it would be great to have some 'borg members to squad with. I'm no newcomer to Battlefield; I've played 1942, 2142, and BFBC2 on the PC, along with BF3 on the 360. I manage to do okay in most games so at the least I won't be impacting ticket-count too negatively. Current I only have the base game, no expansions (yet), so I'd have to stick to the original maps. Conquest and Rush are both fine with me. If you see me on Teamspeak and are up for some BF3, drop on in. Alternatively, let me know what times are good for you in this thread or through PM and we'll coordinate.
I played a lot of BF3 when it started, I'm maxed out on tanks and helis, but I haven't played probably in 7-8 months. If you catch me online I don't mind playing a few rounds though, you can gun the assault heli if ya want, though I'm going to be a little rusty on the piloting.

It's shaping up to be what BF3 was promised to be. Which is why, I can hardly wait, but shall. DICE is making it hard to resist preordering.
I'm on the fence about it. On one hand BF3 was great before Premium, I didn't really want to deal with it so I stopped playing. On the other hand I don't know if I have the time to play it like I did BF3 and grind through all the unlocks all over again. But playing with an actual squad would be fun, last time I did solo most of the time.
Must admit I've been playing BF3 quite a bit with the general lack of new features in MWO this past summer (new maps and mechs I don't pilot can hold my interest for only so long). It would be fantastic if we could get enough members online to put together a squad in BF3. I'll be sure to sign in on our Teamspeak more often if other people have been playing it lately. I just realized I never gave my profile name on Battlelog if anyone wants to send a Friend request through it to coordinate joining servers: Catch66.
I don't really play on my own, but if you see me on TS I'll drop if someone else wants to have a go at it, keep in mind I don't have all the expansions, just Karkand and basic.

I'm sure we'll soon need a new thread for BF4, so here's one last post for our current Battlefield 3 players. BF4 Beta pre-load starts today. Anyone with Premium has early access to the beta starting October 1st; everyone else gets access on the 4th. As much as I would love to play the beta on Wednesday, I'm gonna have to hold off until Friday evening. BF4 should have voicechat (finally), but I'll log in on TS as well to see if anyone else is playing the beta.
