As far as I can tell, there's EU and NA. Not sure about Oceanic access. I've got a Lv18-ish Warrior and a Lv18-ish Gandalf on the Orwen server and usually play on the Mediah shard. To clarify, there are 3 "servers" for NA. Each server has four character slots. On those servers there are 9-10 shards. Characters can move across any Shard but are bound to one server.
I got a free copy of this from my girlfriend and we've been playing it all weekend. Remains to be seen if I stick with it after The Division comes out tomorrow, but man is it fun. Definitely reminds me of Pre-WoW MMOs. They just kinda toss you in and let you go. Requires research and actually reading quest text and NPC dialogue to accmoplish and learn things. Level 14 Warrior on Orwen, I usually play on Calpheon 2 (the unofficial RP server/shard).
Currently waiting a month or so until the blader comes out because that is the class I want to play. And I hate the fact of putting a months worth of free time playing into a character I don't full heartedly want to play.
I have a 30 sorceress on Uno. I love this game. I agree with Derak. Feels like the good old MMO days. @Hollister. The gear isn't level based, so if you reroll a blader, you can give him all the gear you acquired and upgraded.
I've been playing this game a ton. I have 50 hrs played since release. Granted, about 40-45 of those are AFK fishing on my laptop while I play Tim Clooney's Subtraction, but still. Good wholesome old-skool free-form MMO. The trading system is pretty much Elite: Dangerous with horses and wagons, and once you hit 45 I hear people can actually gank you for your cargo and stuff which makes it interesting.
hopefully you'll elaborate on this once you know more, because that kind of system kinda kills my interest in it.
The game has a lot of systems to encourage you to stay logged in; you regen your energy (basically labor from ArcheAge) faster when logged in, your workers only work when you're logged in, and you can auto-cruise your wagon on trade routes and auto-fish while you're afk. I actually really, really like the fishing system. basically, there's a minigame you play if you want, otherwise it sits and prompts you for the minigame for 3 minutes, and if you don't respond (such as if you're afk or working on homework like me!) it'll automatically catch a fish a recast the line as long as your pole still has durability.
I'm on the Orwen steam server "3" btw. Le me know if we have a guild or something, and your names for PC.
Picked this up on the Steam sale. Now I just gotta wait a week for my godawful internet to download it.
So customer service for this game is pretty awesome. I finished downloading it yesterday but couldn't log in since for whatever reason you can't create an account in the Steam version if you already made one on the website. I opened a ticket for it before I went to bed and they replied in like ten minutes to ask if I just wanted to delete the account and make a new one. I replied when I got up in the morning and they had it fixed in an hour and actually apologized that it took so long.
Should I really be doing what the Dwarf in the Flask tells me to? I'm pretty sure I saw him murder like a whole town.
