Are there any board gamers in the Skjaldborg? I just had my weekly game night here yesterday and played two recent favorites and a new game: Lords of Waterdeep, Ascension, and the new game King of Tokyo. LoW is a lot of fun, but can be a bit random at times. Ascension was great, and I was in great position when the Rat King came out at the most inopportune time and wreaked my plan. KoT is a light, entertaining dice game "king of the hill" type game of giant monsters.

What have you been playing lately or are your favorite boardgames?

I've been playing a lot of Ticket to Ride with my wife. We also have Lord of the Rings Living Card Game as well as the Call of Cthulhu Living Card Game.

Lords of Waterdeep is great with a big group (especially if it moves relatively fast). I also got Super Dungeon Explore recently and that's been a lot of fun the few games I've played with the gf...

I really wish I had a proper gaming group...

SDE is quite fun. There was a group of us that played that via Vassal. We probably spent an hour in pre-prep before the actual game and then only made it through one map panel.

Oh, that game is loads of fun once you get everyone on the same page!

You could say I have enjoyed the occasional board and card game. I also have a few Warhammer/40k armies. Also Theo we have played Super Dungeon Explore online once and seemed to go alright but I was learning the rules while being the Consul, Taake is not so right we did 4 panels with 5 players and they got down to pretty much the last one and I overtook them with Starfire.

Edit: Decided to throw in RPG's as well to complete my image dump :p

I played LotR LCG at GenCon last year and I liked it a lot. I saw SDE there as well, but have not played it. Once I get my game closet cleaned up, I'll post a few pics.

Good to see the RPG represent as well. I went from not playing/having any for many years to having quite a few since getting back into D&D with 4E. I have lots of 4E, Mouse Guard, Star Wars Saga, Star Wars D6, Ghostbusters and a number of PDF rules.

I used to play a lot of board games(Then I took....), unfortunately as of late the amount of boardgaming has suffered a significant set back. I mostly play scifi strategy boardgames, and I'd say that the one I've played the most is twilight imperium. I'd link my collection on BGG but the site seems to be down atm...

Ya I love them all and try to take every chance I get to play board, card or RPG. Thinking I might try to run a SIFRPG session soon since I just got it.

If you all want to get on some board games, a PBEM axis and allies game is very doable and takes only 2-3 weeks, even with multiple players

You could also use Vassal for that, http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:Axis_&_Allies there are a few other versions available. We have found Small World works very nicely on vassal as does SDE. Arkham Horror bugged out on us as did WoW. Turns out it might have been not enough memory being allocated to the games.

I don't play board games a ton, but I do play fairly regularly. I was in a gaming group in high school where we played a lot of board games, and still get together with some of the people from that on occasion. Some of my favorites would be Thunderstone, Blood Bowl (though I usually play this one on PC now), Betrayal at House on the Hill (my absolute favorite), and Agricola (though I haven't gotten to play it in quite some time). I also really like simple card games like Saboteur, Mille Bornes, Waterworks, and Flapjacks and Sasquatches. I saw Super Dungeon Explore mentioned, and while I do enjoy that game and others like it, they tend to take a reallllly long time to play. I prefer games that take no more than an hour or two, tops.

Played some games over the weekend with the family - wife and two girls, 10 and 6. We played Quarriors (a family fav) and brought out an old favorite, Through the Desert, in which the 10 yr old cleaned our clocks.
