Is there anyone interested in playing games like: Rise of Flight, IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad and DCS World?

If you don't know one of the games. Here's a trailer for each one.

I really would love to play all of them with you but I'm swamped currently. Need to re-evaluate when this year's over.

I have IL Sturmovik 1946, haven't played it in a loooooong time though. Plus I'd need to wait a little for my computer shipment to arrive before i have a joystick and good setup.

I've been playing a little Warthunder simulator, although the spotting there leaves to be desired.

Kind of disappointed this isn't about Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator, released in 1998. I played the shit out of that in high school.

Hear hear. I even modded it after discovering that they had actually made decent AI for your wingmates but they had 'disabled' it to emphasize the role of player in missions. After re-enabling wingmate AI it was a lot more fun ;)

I don't know why but I just can't get myself to really enjoy Warthunder. It doesn't catch the goodness of IL2, Combat Flight Sims or European Air War etc. Being designed to be used with mouse etc. doesn't really help... and the grind! Sigh.

Very interested in possibly Rise of Flight or DCS. I have the trial version of rise of flight but I've only run it once so far to see how well it plays. I've completed a few of the tutorials on DCS...I would be down for completing all of them if there is some interest in playing cooperatively or whatever. IL-2 Battlehood of Stalingrad is a bit too much for me right now, but I would play IL-2 1946 if anyone else is interested.

I have played War Thunder in sim mode alot lately. It's allright but could be much better. The strength of War Thunder is that it offers alot of planes.

Both Rise of Flight and DCS could be a good starting point as both of them have a free version. DCS comes with the "SU-25T" while Rise of flight comes with the "SPAD XIII" and "Albatross D.Va". All of them are really good planes.

As you well know, I'm pretty big into Rise of Flight (bought a few planes... like... 15 of them :D) and while I haven't gotten into DCS all them much, I really want to. Problem at the moment it that I have a Logitech Force 3D Pro that is not long for this world (getting serious judder, variable sensitivity - methinks the pots are on their way out). I also have Facetrack NoIR - which would work fine if I had a camera that actually produced more than 15fps.

So I'm at an impasse - do I solve my controller issue and put out for an X52, or do I try and sort out my Logitech (I heard you can service them) and try for TrackIR?

Oh, i had no idea you were having issues with your logitech when we talked about it. Get the X52 or solve the issue first. A working joystick is way more important then TrackIR.

On the subject of planes in Rise of Flight. I own most of them and i own several for DCS aswell

Shit, I'm struggling between old and modern planes, don't know where to start! And I really want to!

And damn, they have stuff nowadays for tracking your face for moving your head in the cockpit? Wow.

I heard the new IL2: Battle for Stalingrad has the best multiplayer, but the solo dyanamic campaign is missing... apparently Cliffs of Dover has more for singleplayer. I'm tempted by both, but I'm already so invested into WarThunder it is hard to look elsewhere for my WW2 "sim" fix.

The multiplayer is good but i have only played it a little. I saw 73 people online on 1 server yesterday.

The singleplayer campaign was released a couple of weeks ago. You select an aircraft, choose what form of mission you want to do and then it generates the mission.

I have spent alot of time in WT aswell but the choice was pretty easy for me. IL-2 Battle of stalingrad is a much better game.

The strenght of WT is that you can choose between so many planes. I know i'm still going to play WT as it allows me to play the A6M and Ki-84.

Damn you for not taking a picture of me as I buzzed the front of you in my plan aspius! Then all would know how inferior you sweeds really are!

I kid, I need to get a real stick before I get into DCS world, mine just doesn't have the control options necessary to work in it. And often it ignores commands from the buttons they are mapped too on it. So im pretty sure, my 3d pro is just shit.

Essentially in similar range with Oculus DK2 ? (aka 'not that expensive but way above what I can afford right now)

My list grows. It's got Oculus, x52, pedals and now TrackIR on it.
