I am still currently running a game, I'll muddle through the calendar at some point, currently it's late Monday nights, 8pm pacific. Not everyone involved is in the Skjaldborg, through no fault of my own XD. I have no objections to sitting in, I'm not sure everyone in the group has the Skjaldborg TS, however. Changing venues could end up complicated
I understand. Perhaps we could reevaluate this once we get closer to the recruiting stage. We're having some issues with the 'borg being a bit disconnected; one half has no idea who or what the other half is doing so to speak. I'm trying my best to resolve that. If we had a huge membership, that is somewhat expected, but there really aren't that many of us now. We need to consolidate a bit if we hope to get reorganized again. I hope you can understand.
It's not that I don't understand, it's simply that this is more of an exception for me, usually when I'm around I'm in TS, chilling and BSing if I'm not playing with others. The group is more or less half 'borg, which is a considerable feat considering there's only 7 players and myself. And on top of that, several of those tend to remain in the 'borg server while we play, just muted, only reason I don't usually is because it's less confusing for me when I'm trying to keep track of seven (potentially) different conversations and run the game at the same time XD
I am trying to figure out when I could run something. I have two problems. First, about half of my players are not Borg (and honestly had terrible experiences when we tried using the Borg TS). Second, trying to play for a few hours a night just didn't work. I need to find a block of at least 4 hours and I doubt it will be regular. I might be able to do Saturday mornings, but I also have Pathfinder obligations Saturday evenings. Still thinking about how best to handle this.
I am now on back half, which means I work Wed-Thur-Fri and every other Saturday and have the rest of the week off. While I'm all for being on the 'borg server, I know a bunch of us tend to like to lounge, hang out, or otherwise simply listen in, which is fine under normal circumstances, but when you're trying to corral a large number of people in a tabletop environment multiple conversations even when nothing is going on can be distracting from the game as usually when nothing is going on I'm doing something behind the scenes. I don't particularly like using password channels because that seems... cliquish, don't ask me why, but it tends to bother me if only a little, using a separate server just alleviates a lot of small problems by virtue of simply not being present where they are capable of occurring.
I'm open to ideas. I just wanted to include you guys on the general restructuring. If we can get more in-house PnP, awesome, but if not (as you said, half are from other groups) that's fine too. At the very least, if you could post in announcements when you guys have something cool going on, that would be great. I don't know where your TS server info is either. Might be helpful to put that somewhere more prevalent for the rest of the borg to find.
it's Demon's TS, I have absolutely no problem setting things up on the calendar however, it's tough to work many more people in than are already in the game at the moment, I'm running with 7 regulars
Alright, after talking to Magnus, I am going to try to run something on the Borg server. Specifically, I am aiming at Pathfinder Society play so that it is more flexible on attendance. Trying to play for 2 hours at a time was impossible and honestly very frustrating for me. We had a few other problems as well, but I won't go into that here. Currently, I am thinking Friday might be our best shot. For most (Damion being an exception, as he noted), it allows for that four hour block that I need. As for my TS info, that isn't going to be made public. Considering some of the attacks we have had on the Borg server over the years from bots, etc., it just isn't going to happen.
I'm fine with what you guys said, but I'm curious what you mean by "public". I certainly wouldn't expect you to post it where all the world can see it. I was thinking more for borg members (like myself), it would be nice if we could observe you doing your thing... you know... being inclusive and whatnot. Or is your server an "ask for access" thing? That being said, if things work out with you hosting on the 'borg TS, that more or less resolves the issue anyway.
I'd be down to do some Pathfinder on Friday nights. I made a character for Damion's campaign but it looks like his groups times won't line up with the times when I can play, unfortunately. Let me know if you need help hammering things out.
Check the Calendar and Announcement section. I am planning a chit chat on the 23rd to finalize some details.
okay, for those in my campaign, I will likely not be cognizant at our normal operating hours tonight, spread the word if you please. I shall try to be conscious at some point in the evening but events have conspired to keep me well past my bedtime and I'm running out of time before game in which to both sleep and prepare.
I'M BACK! I've got Hero Lab set up, and most of my buggy computer shit figured out (*notreallybutItried*)! I even downloaded MechWarrior Living Legends finally. But that's for a different thread. I can start playing Pathfinder games now. But first I have to figure out what's even going on with Pathfinder here.
Look in the announcements on my end. Damion still runs something as well, so I will let him answer his half. On my end, quick summary. Every other Friday at 9 pm Eastern (next one is Feb 3). Also, one Sunday a month for a massive module, plan about 8 hour. Starting at 1 pm eastern (next one is Feb 5).
