I used to do D&D with a group of friends over the internet using a client we found online. Made things pretty damn convenient.
Fantasy Grounds. Has native 3.5 and 4E rules, plus loads of other rulesets available, including Shadowrun 4E. The problem is finding DM/GMs. Cause I ain't doing it. I'd love to go on some 'Runs. My SR 4E book is arriving today, haven't played since 1E.
Yeah, gotta go with you there. Talking about playing Shadowrun online? Check this out, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1613260297/shadowrun-returns
Well Taake is trying to talk me into helping you SR fans out since I love it and was considering trying to DM but never really done it before except as introducing people who have never played RPG's and with players out to ruin my campaign so my experiences doing it haven't always been favorable.
LOL In the above link you can donate money to help them with their goal, look at the reward for donating $10,000 or more dollars (and notice it's sold out ) Pledge $10,000 or more 3 Backers SOLD OUT (0 of 3 remaining) Previous rewards + Mike Mulvihill, who led Shadowrun game development at FASA Corp., will COME TO YOUR TOWN TO RUN A TABLETOP GAME OF SHADOWRUN FOR YOU AND FIVE OF YOUR FRIENDS. (He'll even buy some snacks.)
Yep in fact a few of us are backers on the project . The first 2 10k rewards were snatched within the first day of it being available as well with the third I think being around day 3 or 4. People really wanted that it seems.
How about thieves world? http://www.thievesworld.info/ It has much less retarded magic system then D&D and i love that dark setting.
Shadowrun!! Oh my God, such good times. Ran a long-standing RP-heavy campaign with 3E rules... and a hefty number of laptops to handle all the number-crunching madness those rules inspired. My stack of SR rule/sourcebooks is, if anything, even more extensive than my BT collection - and to this day I still break out Year of the Comet or System Failure and fondly remember the days when I scared the shit out of my players by relocating my campaign to Chicago right before Bug City. Ah, good times. Online SR games? Gawd, count me in... *looks at the sputtering 3G card I've been saddled with, and /headdesks a couple of times* ...well, maybe... *shakes card a couple of times* EDIT: Shadowrun Returns looks awesome, btw.
It may be getting close to time for me to start a thread dedicated to getting a game off the ground and recruiting a GM.
