Time Progression and Contract Rules (plus associated info)

    Time Progression
    • In-game time = Real life time (1 week in-game = 1 week in RL)
    • ONE Standard Turn = 2 weeks
    Contracts
    • New contracts will always be posted on the 1st of each month.
    • SOME contracts will be repeatable after completion (usually patrols, recons, or raids).
    • ALL standard single mission contracts last ONE week.
    • Special Contracts are a series of semi-unique missions that must be done in order; these could last up to ONE month (or four missions).
    • Warzones ALWAYS last the entire month; players may be as active or inactive in these as they choose. Payment is based on total damage dealt.
    Tech Repairs & Upgrades
    • FULL repairs = ONCE / Turn (2 weeks); does not apply if on a special contract.
    • Tech Repairs = 480 minutes / week (or between missions)
    • Warzone in-the-field repairs = armor and ammo only (requires exiting the map).
    • Upgrades may only be done during the LAST week of each month (after the 21st).

for your personal mech? not at all. Corps don't supply you mechs. just parts (weapons, etc.) and drones. see the above links in the OP for a detailed background on each of them.

Surprise surprise.. another Google form. :glee: Here's the first draft on the contract system you guys can look forward to seeing. I'm working with Sheephugger to hopefully make these a lot prettier. The plan is to make contract creation a simple matter of selecting from a series of dropdown menues. This will greatly help in simplifying admin responsibilities and facilitate speedier creation of new content.

A preview of the upcoming campaign's strategic map (WIP!). This represents the planetary surface of Antallos in its entirety in the 34th century:
    Antallos StratMap.GIF
Centuries of steady terraforming have done much to reduce radiation levels although some areas still persist (most eastern region of map shown above). An improved atmosphere has enlarged the few previously existing bodies of water and has created others, but the planet remains largely dry and inhospitable in most areas.

From a gamemaking perspective, the climate of Antallos has been made slightly more temperate to allow for more variation in biomes, but the majority of the planet is still covered in variations of desert-like climates. Colder climates will only be found at extreme altitudes and near the poles.

    Compare to the previous draft:
    Capture.GIF

The reason for the less photorealistic version is that the terrain is easier to distinguish.

The following are a list of terrain factors that will affect all missions. These will be easy to gauge at a glance from the strategic map:
    • temperate, desert, alpine, arctic, or volcanic?
    • plains, swamp, hills or mountains?
    • foliage: none, light or heavy/jungle?
On rare occasions, players will have the option to take missions that take them underwater/underground. Naturally, these will have their own specific environs that may limit normal movement (ex. jump jets won't work, no natural light, etc). Generally speaking, such environments will make missions more difficult, but players can also expect more unusual rewards for their efforts.

    nearly finalized version:
    Capture.GIF

The resolution is actually much MUCH larger than the picture shown here (this is roughly 10% of its true size). You can see the real thing for yourself by signing up to the Roll20 page here:
    https://app.roll20.net/join/369004/S-QOLg

Some interesting details to keep in mind:
    • There are currently FIVE blue and FIVE red Combat Zones.
    • Blue Combat Zones are always PvE against low level enemies (ie. bandits).
    • Red Combat Zones are *potential* PvP missions (you won't know for sure until you show up ;) ).
    • If a CZ is removed, a new one will take its place on the map, but not always in the same location.
    • Blue CZ's may randomly disappear after they have been completed, but do not contribute to your faction's territorial claims over the planet.
    • Only Red CZ's will allow you to claim territory for your faction; higher risk means higher reward. Red CZ's always change upon completion.
    • All cities have been labeled (the font is just really small on the board)
    • There are SEVEN cities and SEVEN starports (the latter allow for discount dropship transport); those outside "home territories" (the colored boxes) can be captured by players for their chosen faction.
    • The planetary capital, Port Krin (near the Tali Sea), will remain neutral ground for all factions. The governing body for all Lancers calls this place home as well.
    • "No one goes to Resortland anymore..."
EDIT: In hindsight, I will probably shrink the scale down somewhat. The city names are barely legible at all but the highest powered zoom.

    UPDATE: fixing the scaling

a few more things i forgot to mention:
    • there are FIVE hidden pirate bases on the map; these hold hidden treasures, but also opportunities for Lancers with a flexible moral compass ;)
    • there are FIVE hidden weapons caches on the map; these will give you access to rare weaponry, but these can also be handed over to your favorite faction for a large reputation bonus (a good way to unlock new weapons faster).
    • upon discovery of a weapons cache or destruction of a pirate base, that location is removed from the map and a new one will take its place somewhere else; there will always be FIVE of each on the map at any one time.
    • players can use these secret locations as bargaining chips with other players.

NEXT TOPIC - QUICK PLAY CONTRACT MECHANICS

Due to limiting schedules, I've greatly simplified the contract selection process.
    1. At the begin of play, all players perform an Administration Skillcheck. Highest rolling player chooses first faction for contract.
    2. [OPTIONAL] If contract is against another major faction, the second highest rolling player may choose any opposing non-pirate faction of the first (see faction chart for details).
    3. If players do not wish to fight for any of the selected factions, they may opt to "Sub-contract" their work. When Sub-contracting, all rewards are the same except Reputation gained. For this, Reputation is reduced by half, but players may gain Reputation with any faction they choose.
Certain mission conditions will be decided by the players (some exception will apply). These currently include:
    • Mission Zone (must be specific to factions selected)
    • Mission Rating (8/16/24/32/40/48/56/64/72/80/88/96/104/etc.)
All time of day and weather conditions are determined as per normal rules (dice table rolls).

    Example Mission Generated:
