    the looting/inventory video that's also been getting a lot of voiceover

    i'll be honest, i really really like the way they appear to be handling loot. i love an immersive, authentic-feeling game. it doesn't have to be 100% realistic, i still want it to be fun, but stuff like searching a backpack and seeing the items appear as if you're actually finding them while rummaging around in a pack is fucking glorious

    Im pumped for a game that has really good weapon customization.

    it looks like they broke the weapon customization into 3 groups.

    this is for the M16m4 carbine.

    Vital parts which is the basic parts of the gun that make it what it is, like the barrel, upper receiver, and lower receiver.

    Then gear parts which is the charging handle, grip, extension tube for a m16.

    lastly there is functional parts like front and rear sights, optics, butt stocks, rails, lasers, lights, fore grips, and muzzle devices.

    I'm with Pidian. Watching them handle loot was impressive.

    Though I'm sure there will be arguments about how much of a lock-in the interface is. You can't look around you without breaking the inventory.

    In fairness, though, it looks like the time it takes to get into/out of the interface to maintain at least some level of awareness is low. That's balanced by the progress bar for actually searching pockets and inventories. Drives home that you had better a) be very certain of your surroundings and egress, or b) have a lookout. Dragging corpses like some kind of modern-day ghoul may end up being a better idea provided the animation isn't something you're locked in to.

    LevelCap had a video giving some background on the relationship between Contract Wars, Escape from Tarkov, and Russia 2028. After watching his video I looked up a pre-alpha trailer for Russia 2028

    It reminds me a bit of what we have seen from EoT. Not totally sure if Russia 2028 has been fully shelved while developing EoT or if it was changed into EoT. Russia 2028 had a Facebook page post with more art back in july so it may still be separate and just shelved for the moment.

    I'm jumpy as I watch this, the sound of gun fire in the same building and knowing that it isn't friendly and that they are shooting at someone else that is also not friendly.
