Pssssht no need good sir. Go ahead and snag it. We'll put it this way: my crab has a nearly-identical load out to that griffin. The only thing I or the lance gain by me upgrading is more mobility due to the jjs. With you, we gain a hell of a lot more firepower when we swap out the panther. I can hold off for a few missions and then just upgrade the crab when I get more funds.
Well if Magnus scrounges enough money to buy that black knight then his older shadow hawk might be up for sale as well. If he doesn't buy the black knight then my thunderbolt will be up for sale.
just FYI: I won't be selling my Shaddyhack to get the BK. I will either be buying the BK outright and retain the SH as backup, or I won't buy anything. Will let you know soon. We may only have one of the custom Vash, but we have a boat load of upgraded Griffins. It wouldn't be too hard to replicate one.
Ah yes, but the vash is a straight line upgrade with what I had in mind. Same loadout and same specs. That means I buy the mech, and I'm done. With the others I would have to buy the mech and then retrofit. So, I'd be better off just retrofitting my current ride. Besides, then I get to keep the nifty lookin crab chassis. I just gotta hold out now for a gladiator or a dragon. ...or a devastator.
If a king crab could move at a 5/8, I'd be inclined to agree. If I wanted to move at 3/5, I'd get a Devastator.

You go ahead and let me know when you've collected the 22 million you need for that bad boy, I'll let you know what Delta's accumulated in the mean-time. unless you're talking about the 1D Devastator, in which case I scoff. scoff scoff scoff.
A DVS-1D would cost far less than a DVS-2, and be right on par with the cost of a KC-010. You're looking at 4ml, a couple of large lasers, and AC10s. Sure it's not a pair of PPCs, or LBXs, but the relative increase in range/firepower is slim at that point. Aside from that, a retrofit to get to a DVS-2-esque model is a lot less than you think. The majority of that enormous bill for the DVS-2 comes from the 300 XL, which I never put in in the first place for the sake of battlefield longevity. That being removed, it's a rather equal cost-comparison. I'll take a pair of gauss rifles over a pair of lbx 10s on a 3/5 assault any day of the week.
And, just so you know, Devastator is my long long term goal for these campaigns. It's why I'm focusing on the PH right now, simply because it's a good machine and I'm comfortable with it. Once my pilot get's 1/2 or 1/1 skills, plus a slight re-configuration of his skills, he'll be pretty fucking deadly behind the controls of that beast. Might be a bit pricey, but I'm not really spending my money on much else.
