Used to love this game, but really not happy about this:
    http://warthunder.com/en/news/3673-shop-discount-on-foliage-decorations-ends-soon-en/

2000 Gold Eagles for bundles of bushes you can strap to your tank. If you were to buy all of the different bush bundles, it would cost you over $70!

    WHAT THE FUCK, GAIJIN?!

The only silver lining to this is that *most* players are screaming bloody murder about it and *most* players have refused to use the bushes... the problem is that it is only *MOST* of the players.:unamused:

Am I missing something or is this exactly what it appears to be?

Won't make any difference as most already play with low graphics and the bushes doesn't even exist there.

So if you're playing on low graphics and see a bush, shoot it?

Maybe, they might also have changed it since last i played. I don't know since i never play the tanks anymore. All i do is fly a plane in simulator once every now and then

I enjoy tanks for arcade matches, I'm not a huge tanker that plays the simulation matches or I'd be really pissed at this. None the less its a bit cheap, also the additional armor packs where they place track sections on the sides of hulls for a bit more protection is a bit of a annoyance sine its also pay to win.

Ok... so everyone play on lowest settings then? I've heard this "solution" before. Does that really seem like the correct solution here? What about all the players who don't know every facet of this game? They are going to get screwed. How about maybe not charge astronomical fees for something that gives "potential" advantage? How about a reasonable option to buy said advantage with in-game credits?

In regards to the armor, they are chassis specific and are unlocked the same as other upgrades. I'm annoyed that the additional armor is not really well balanced across the board (ex. the early shermans... which desperately need it), but they are at least not P2W.

I don't care what excuse people want to give. The set of bush camo for 2000 gold eagles is complete bullshit.

No its not the correct solution but people have been doing it to get an advantage.

Gaijin used to make P2W stuff regularly before. At the worst moments there was a new one every month (They nerfed the stuff from the previous month when they added something new). They don't do it as often now but once in a while they will come with something.

And there it is - I enjoy RB and SB in tanks. That's pretty shitty actually.

Also, while the Tank Track sections on the sides usually only add between 20mm and 30mm, and won't make a huge difference in higher tier battles, SPAAG's will now be completely unable to defend themselves as an ADDITIONAL 20mm is enough to render 37mm fire utterly useless.

Of all the cool shit they could've added - bustle racks loaded with crap, enemy soldier helmets, custom turret numbers, gun-barrel markings/names, historical camo patterns... they give us Ghillie-gear... cash only, or SPAAG proofing... again, cash only.

Again, I'm all for microtransactions in F2P games - but this violates the clearest definition of Pay-to-Win.

I'll be putting this down for now.

That's just it... the armor addons are actually unlocked the same as any other upgrade for a vehicle... they dont cost real money.

It's just the camo that is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I'm totally fine for paying for cosmetics; this is a well established acceptable trend. But paying >$70 for the full ghillie set is an absolute kick in the balls.

The good news is that the player base has pretty much universal hate for these prices... but Gaijin has yet to fix the prices even a month after the fact. I definitely won't be spending anymore money on this... which sucks beacuse i otherwise really have enjoyed realistic tank battles.

What is up with Russian dev teams and their Pay2Win bullshit?

Because russians are greedy? It's why so many KGB agents defected during the cold war...

Fet... some questions are asked with the intent of not being answered.
Putting aside how I feel about Putin and their government, if I was russian I would be offended as fuck by that comment. :unamused:

Also, the only two russian dev teams I know of basically both have online tank games with P2W content... so I'm not exactly versed on the subject.

I think is a Russian misunderstanding of the Western market while fully understanding and exploiting their own market. The two don't translate well.

As an example - Russian incomes rest on a MUCH more pronounced bell curve. People with money to pay for online stuff usually have a SHITTON of money to spend on this kind of thing. That's sorta okay, because that's the market demographic and the company caters for it. Same thing in Asia with those grindy MMO's. No big deal, it's basically marketed and set up to cater to a certain demographic.

In the "political West" as it's been called, the median income is much higher per person, and the ramp up to the ultra rich isn't quite as severe. We're better served with things like "Pre-order Bonuses" and "Cash for in-game Swag", with more, smaller items available in the cash shop and eschewing the larger, more expensive (and sometimes game-breaking) cash items. Warframe and a few others jump to mind seeing as I've not spend a single dollar on it and never felt I couldn't kick ass anyway (might be wrong as I'm nowhere near the end-game).

Now porting this severely curved model to Western markets is... problematic. We are more concerned with game balance and the competitive scene being accessible, while over that side the "competitive scene" is basically like a sport that you take up and have to pay for all the gear you'll need and maintain it too. < --- There's the difference. The accessibility of competition-level play. We believe it should be open to all. They believe it's a buy in as with a sport.

I know it's TL;DR - Can't nutshell it any smaller than that without framing it properly.

I like planes. I stopped playing when they kept removing sim and realistic battles from fun.
