I played this back when it first came out and have not for a while. But I picked it back up, and the two expansions are on sale for $25 for black friday. I always liked guild wars (especially the lack of a subscription fee and reduced grind for the story campaign). Would have liked to organized something in it for the borg, but to my knowledge there was never much interest. Maybe that has changed?
I've got this too. I've only played a dozen or so levels but it's pretty fun. Like the first thing I did after getting out of the tutorial was help everybody fight a world boss.
Pretty accurate. This was the main game I played for several years and to the tune of... well, many hours. In the beginning we had a guild and whatnot that 13-14 members joined, but most never did much beyond that. Still, I really loved the gameplay and it was an awesome timesink. I haven't been back in a year or so, and most of the people I played with have since moved on to other titles. That said, if some people did want to mess around in it I'd be happy to help out.
I think I'll reinstall this and then I'll be on in the evening if anybody wants to play this weekend. I'll probably just start a new guy since I never got super far and can't remember much about how to play anywho.
Yep, started that process today. I seem to have some kind of issue with my display name not showing correctly, but apparently this is a known issue with linking original Guild Wars accounts and customer service is working on it. Gihzmo and Haki have already logged in. Apparently the base version of Guild Wars 2 is free now and the barriers for letting people of different levels play together seem few and far between; much better than most MMOs I've seen. I think there's a lot of potential here for us.
Still having issues with my account being messed up after linking it with my old GW account. Support is still working on it. To be fair, Yahtzee HATES pretty much all MMORPGs so his brief list of compliments actually says quite a bit about how good the game is.

I am usually on in the evenings on and off between 9PM and midnight. Whenever you are on, just hop on. I am currently playing a level 30, but I have higher levels if you are higher than that.

Tried to buy the new expansion, and when I had to enter my information I ran into something a little strange. Is it just me, or is there no option for US or Canada on their country drop down box? I looked for a good 15 minutes, nothing. Am I missing something?
Took a long time to figure out the problem, but tech support finally succeeded in getting me logged into my account again! I don't think there will be much time for GW2 over course of December, but I would still like to see us do something with this.
