So, I saw this little beauty pop up on my Steam Suggestion list. Kingdom Come: Deliverance It's an RPG set in the Holy Roman Empire era of Feudal Europe. I'm getting Skyrim, Witcher 3, and Mount and Blade vibes from what I've seen so far (minus the magic of course). It's got a release date scheduled for February 13th, but you can pre-order it for $60 if you feel that confidant about it. I'll personally wait for release.
Some of us have been following this game for some time. Here is a link to the thread that we have about the game. http://theskjaldborg.com/index.php?threads/kingdom-come-deliverance.8966/
Still hoping for a preload but probably won't happen. Will take me a couple days to download with my horrible internet speed.
So... Someone forgot I was getting a sword... I may be in a little trouble. Edged weapons and babies don't mix.
Oh nice you did sword level? I was tempted, couldn't bring myself to do it. Gotta post a pic of that when you get and before your wife makes you throw it away in the garage for life.
With my riding sword and a used war bolo my great grandfather brought back from the Philippines. This is the Limited Edition level 'short sword'
It's not in any way remotely sharp. It is a 'legit blade', however. I imagine it could be sharpened, although if not done competently you'd likely run the risk of a nasty secondary bevel. It is a appropriately tempered blade for use. It is a variation on Arma Epona's Rosenberg. Pommel and hilt are distressed, different color leather wrap, and the coin is different. It is more appropriately an 'arming sword' rather than a 'short sword'. I would probably place it in Oakshott Type XVI, a 'cut and thrust' sword, although it has very minimal tip reinforcement for the thrust against heavy armor.
I'd assume it's same as almost all the weapons (metal ones not the wood stuff for kids) sold at renaissance festivals. Usually they don't put an edge on the blades (or a very blunted/dulled edge) but they can take an edge. I know starfire swords (i think they are changing the company name) makes weapons meant for the jousters /staged combat so even though they can take an edge you would void the warranty if you did that. So that is a thing to pay attention to if you wanted to put an edge on a blade.
Not available from the site? When you log into backer rewards you can link into your Steam account to activate the product? https://www.kingdomcomerpg.com/qf/en/ramjet/registration/profile
No no, let's not go THAT far and insult the fine people at Arma Epona. These are not made for stage combat. These are 'battle ready' swords, just unsharpened. I consider that 'blunt'. They are not 'blunts'. This is an Arma Epona sword that is used. I like s words. And arxes And things with edges.
