yes that I think everyone is getting but theres no way to set your throttle at like 80% (unless you have a throttle from etiher a joystick or gamepad) and it will stay at 80%.

Ah, never mind, there's no default throttle axis. I hadn't looked at it too closely.

Arise, dead thread! I'm here to plan a Living Legends Borg event now that it's up and running again with new modders behind the helm. I'm looking at the last week of this month. So the 30th through the 3 or possibly the next weekend if people have too much going on then.

Okay, so now that we have played I'd love to start theory-crafting some things.

Things we, as the 'borg had difficulty with in our games:

Air Assets: These really hurt us. We need some solutions to these.

    1. Air Assets of our own, specifically anti-air to take out theirs or mixed which can add to the ground combat until the enemy fields something airborne. This means I may be breaking out my joystick and rudder pedals and seeing if I can figure it out. I'm better with ARMA style helicopters and maybe a VTOL with the right control setup might be the answer.

    2. Occasionally running AA ground assets. There are multiple tanks and mechs that utilize multipe AC2s of various flavors or LBX-5s that might work. I think the ones with GECM might be best for that role as it will allow them to not be locked on or noticed as easily by the aircraft.
Something like the Partisan tank Var. E is fairly cheap and could possibly lay down enough AC2 fire to discourage lighter fighters. Multiple Rifleman Var. are solid but expensive for this role.

    Communication and focus:

    1. Obviously something we can do verbally. While playing we want to have fun, but let's keep the outside banter down some. Laughing about the play we are doing is perfect. Running commentary about some other game/situation probably not good.

    2. I will be practicing this part myself, trying to carry C3 and/or TAG and getting used to flipping in and out of the map for grid co-ordinates and calling out contacts. I'm better in MWO because I have my setting tweaked for that purpose. I'm not totally set up for that in MWLL. If anyone wants to join me for some occasional testing to see how well the various options work with gear I'd love it.

    Mixeds Arms

I think we need to get used to how mixed arms work as a unit. Mechs and tanks backing each other up and picking assets that support each other. A "Harasser" unit is in trouble if it runs into multiple foes or another fast unit alone, but if it works in support with a heavier Mech/Tank it can really shine.

TAGging unit with multiple people having a single LRM launcher can be very effective. TAG and everyone dumps some LRMs gives that single unit firepower well beyond it's own from time to time without costing the others any firepower and allows them to "engage" an enemy even while moving into positions. This doesn't work in MWO because of the lock requirements, but it should work here very nicely.

    Just a few thoughts.

I don't mind breaking out my joystick and learning the flight controls. I also prefer tanks over mechs anyway, so running air or ground based AA is fine with me.

I'm a huge fan of the tanks as well. Sometimes I don't even mind being an APC and being an ammo point for folks. Sometimes if you have a secure position you can drop off an APC and hoof it back to base for another vehicle. Also, I love Long Toms. I don't know if it's just me or not, but they seem really easy and intuitive to use for sniping.

I find it funny that Solo likes the above post, as he has been on the receiving end of my "Tom Foolery" multiple times... in one game.
